The Pursuit Of Eternal Life

  • Summary

  • The intimate knowledge and revelation of God to man is not the preserve of a special group of people. All men are called to know God, and to live the kind of life He has willed for us as an inheritance: Eternal Life. If only we are willing to persevere and fight in pursuit of this, we will surely lay hold of it.

Pastor Jeffrey Walter, in this Holy Communion message, “The Pursuit of Eternal Life”, explains what eternal life is, and describes practically what constitutes this kind of life. He goes on to reveal what it means to know God (i.e., to have eternal life) and how a person comes to the spiritual knowledge of God. Finally, he admonishes that this kind of life is attainable by all. By using examples from his own life, he inspires the spirit of perseverance and encourages that it is never too late to begin one’s pursuit of the spiritual knowledge of God and the eternal life (inheritance) He has promised each of us.

    Key scripture: John 17:1-3 KJV

[1] These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: [2] as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. [3] And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

    John 3:16 KJV

[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
