From Susie's "Try This at Home" mailbag, we have a question from a Vassar College listener who read an article in the Huffington Post and wants to know if it's really true. "If anal sex is the latest craze on college campuses, how can I get some?"

Ever wonder what the top 10 global Internet sex search words are? Susie looks at a very thorough list that shows which porn terms are the most popular. The search engine is called PornMD, which is part of Pornhub.com. What's surprising is the variances from country to country. And it's curious as well to see what words are universal. This is part history lesson, part laugh fest.

How does the Border Control identify sex traffickers, or people coming into the country for any kind of sex? And... why is it any of their business? Susie reads an article from Laura Agustin's The Naked Anthropologist blog about sex victims and sex workers. Agustin is an authority on trafficking, and she explodes several myths: that selling sex is completely different from any other kind of work, that migrants who sell sex are passive victims, and that the multitudes of people out to "save" them are without self-interest.

Today Susie breaks out her best British accent as she reads a letter written in 1858 by an English prostitute. What makes this noteworthy? Our gal is addressing Charles Dickens and writes: "I don't need to be saved - thank you very much." As Susie delves into the letter, a very articulate and self-aware woman tells her story of how and why she became a lady of the night. She has a strong sense of humor and uses it to make trenchant points, such as, "…lost what? Not my virtue, for I never had any."

[Contains explicit content] Susie tells the story of a Arkansas woman who cared for abandoned AIDS patients and buried them, by hand, in her family's plot. And from the mailbag, a listener writes to say she's married and alone. Susie says she's not alone.

It's almost Valentine's Day, and Susie's sending out a big smooch to you. Her motto on this romantic holiday is "Love the One You're With". And for those of you who are single - flirt. If you're in the middle of a breakup, purge. Valentine's Day is for everyone, no matter where your love life currently abides.

Susie looks into to a story from The New York Times about friends who become lovers. Can friends go from being buddies to lovers without stress? Research says this phenomenon is called "friends with benefits", and it has many risks.

Today's show addresses every new parent's concern: Will we ever have sex again? Do you feel like you're in a time warp with your baby or toddler, with no hope of romance returning? Well, worry no more. Susie gives advice to all parents. This is part of an interview Susie had with a super-cool parenting magazine called Haus Frau, edited by Nicole Chaison. The magazine focuses on real family challenges: head lice, traveling with kids, and (in the upcoming issue with Susie) sex.

Today's show is all about you! Susie opens her enormous mailbag and spends the entire program answering your sex-question letters. We call this a mailbag blowout! First, Susie hears from three listeners who are all dealing with low libido - of their spouses or themselves. Help! Then, the herpes mysteries continue, and Susie gives some sound advice on how to deal with many related problems, including shedding. Finally, a listener has some strange sexual ideas that Susie has to untangle.

Susie gives us a look at what it's really like to be bisexual. And she says that bisexuality isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Imagine being shunned by both straights and gays because you just don't fit in.

[Contains explicit content] In this 2006 show, Susie's guest is Laura Kipnis, author of The Female Thing: Dirt, Sex, Envy, Vulnerability, and Against Love. Laura Kipnis says women today are deeply conflicted about what it means to be female. With most advice based on helping women obtain what they "lack", Laura says women now spend inordinate amounts of time keeping themselves and their houses clean. While Susie and Laura don't see eye-to-eye on every issue, their different viewpoints offer a fascinating look at feminism and womanhood today.

Susie has a beef with many women's magazines. "Faking It: Sex, Lies, and Women's Magazines", an article by Liza Featherstone in Columbia Journalism Review, brings up many questions on the merit of magazine stories that produce sexual anxiety, obsession, and insecurities. Susie goes over some of the headlines you've seen while checking out on the grocery line: "7 Great Tips for Better Sex", "The 5 Most Erotic Body Parts", and "The 10 Best Places to Make Love".

Today Susie looks at the details surrounding a complex story: An elderly man who may or may not have had willing sex with his Alzheimer's-suffering wife has been put on trial. At the heart of the matter is the question of consent and the infantilization of the elderly. It seems lots of younger people don't want to believe that senior citizens might still want to have sex together.

[Contains explicit content] Susie interviews one of today's most popular porn stars, Asa Akira. Asa has been working in the adult entertainment business and has accrued many awards for her film work. She's won for best anal scene, best double penetration scene, and best all-girl three-way sex scene, at the AVN award show. She's also been named best porn star of the year and has appeared in over 400 adult films.

Susie sets the record straight: anal tattoos can be fun! At a recent tattoo convention, a young woman made quite a stir as she allowed cameras to roll while she got a tattoo on her asshole. What's all the fuss about? says Susie. Tattoos are now commonplace, and it seems no body part is off limits... or maybe not. Online site Reddit.com reports that a surprisingly large number of men are offended by the idea of having your anus decorated.

Susie is off this week, but wants you to enjoy a show from 2004. In this episode, Susie looked at the rather strange history of the dildo. While vibrators have long been recognized as "marital aids", the dildo's heyday didn't really arrive until the '80s, when a man from Brooklyn named Gosnell Duncan started making silicon dildos - he even named one The Susie! - and the revolution began. Susie explains how it all got started and where you can find the best dildos around.

Susie's guest this week is Mike Males, the author of a recent Op-Ed titled "This is Your Brain on Drugs, Dad" (NYT, Jan. 3, 2007) and several books on the way society demonizes and fears teenagers. In his Op-Ed, Males says that contrary to the usual images of who abuses drugs, the real truth is that middle-aged, well-educated white people have the highest rates of drug abuse, with some of the most startling increases in the number of women in this group who are hooked on drugs.
