Publisher's summary

Once upon a time, we had ancestors who believed in a god and a goddess. As they shifted to a monotheism-based religion, however, our forefathers divorced the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine. Through that process, we became a culture living within a mythos of divorce. We now have a Heavenly Father, but no Divine entity to call "Mother." Not only did our archetypal parents get divorced, but our mother was banished, and we were forbidden to talk about Her. And so, we slowly forgot the Divine Feminine. Until now.

The goddess is waking up inside her children. Women, raised within the various Abrahamic traditions, are remembering Her and recognizing that She has faces other than the virgin and the mother. To help with the collective remembering of the Divine Feminine, brave souls are emerging to help with this process. Aubrey Warren is one of those being called as a spokesperson for the goddess. At age twenty-one, Warren turned to yoga to heal her chronic infections when western medicine was ineffective. She has now been a yoga teacher for over twenty years and yoga educator for a decade.

In this book, Warren shares the lessons she's learned and the tools she's acquired through the process of losing her religion and realizing that every culture has its own mythos. She addresses the necessary deprogramming, unlearning, and self-education that have guided her path of awakening, self-love, and sacred relationships. In this self-help meets erotica teaching memoir, Warren hopes to be the role model she never had. She offers her permission-slip and love-letter to the listener, hoping that by sharing her journey and experience she will shine a light on new ways of being that might just help us shift from a mythos of divorce into a mythos of unity and unconditional love. Warren has been married to her husband, Jacob, for over twenty years, and she's excited to share with you all the tips and tricks she's cultivated to keep her marriage thriving and hot after two decades.

From a man's viewpoint

I've never read a book that made me cry so much. I'm talking hours of crying. and not the bad, painful kind of crying. the liberating, meaningful, invigorating, "Jesus, I never thought about it that way", "somebody finally gets it, somebody finally said it", kind of crying.

And mind you, this is coming from a guy who doesn't really stay that in touch with feelings. some people would say I avoid them pretty feverishly like most men. I'm a provider. I hunt and fish religiously. I work on my own vehicles and everybody else's. I've remodeled entire homes down to the studs with my own two hands. I'm probably about as close to a "guys' guy" as you'll ever find....BUT.

I also have three daughters, a granddaughter, a mother, two sisters, handful of amazing female friends, and a wonderful female partner in my life. And this book helped me to understand them more than anything else I've ever read in my life.

I wish I could narrow down some of my favorite parts of the book for you, but literally there was something in every chapter. All of every chapter itself was woven together in such a cohesive, inspiring, informative, enlightening, and sometimes downright hot and horny architecture.

I can tell you my favorite quote from the book is this. "The collective pain is deep, and it affects us all." The loss of the divine feminine in our spirituality over the millennia hit me deep and hard. And my greatest recommendation is that every woman read this book to help her reconnect with that divinity, and for every man to read this book to understand how the beauty of the divine feminine is so necessary and affects us all so profoundly.

I genuinely can't remember the last time I read a book this meaningful and impactful. And I celebrate and admire Aubrey Warren for writing it with so much passion, truth, transparency, and vulnerability. If I could give it ten stars rather than five, I'd be delighted. Thanks for reading my long-winded review.
