Publisher's summary

Only good girls get to sleep in my bed.

Getting laid before the big game should be easy. Chicks at Laguna Grove dig hockey players...except the one woman Jayce wants. His African American lab partner, Makeba Winston.

It's nothing he can't solve with tequila, a thick leather leash, and a pillow at the foot of his bed. Makeba wont become his girlfriend right away, but a few days tied to the bed ought to change her mind...Right?

Dark & Intriguing.

So I listened to the audiobook of this and it was SO good!! I'd definitely recommend to any lovers of a dark sports romance fans.

This is Makeba and Jayce's story. A little light on the dark side but heavy on the plot. Jayce, sexy hockey player, knows what he wants and he gets it by any means possible. Makeba is just trying to get by, especially, from a crazy ex. These two, the back and forth, the power struggle in this relationship, man, it was a tad bit crazy but it does end with a HEA. I'll keep my eye on this series.

'Hockey Romance' without a Whole Lot of Hockey

So I purchased this at the same time that I purchased the first book and thus I was tied into listening to it. Again the narration was mediocre at best (and that's being generous). I like dark romances, but this one was just kind of wild to me. The notion that the FMC is a strong black woman whose friends are protective of each other, and yet she gets drunk and they leave her in the hockey house with a guy that she really only knows from class..... yea that's plausible. Then this man proceeds to leash this woman to his bed to keep her all because she turned him down for sex. I'm usually pretty flexible with what I'm willing to accept in dark romances, but I couldn't get past the fact that this supposed OCD man has this woman pee in a corner of his room and he leaves it there until the next morning. Yet they both act like they don't smell the pee the next morning when she finally wakes up from her drunken stupor. Then he proceeds to go down on her after she's just been at the party the night before and has peed in the corner but hasn't cleaned herself since she is shackled to his bed! And he has the nerve to say that she smells and tastes good... how???? On what planet?

But lets ignore all of the random things that just don't make sense and focus on the biggest glaring problem that I have with this book. The FMC is held hostage by the MMC she then turns the tables on him and holds him hostage. He then repays her by abducting her again and torturing her with his friend! And somehow this turns into a situation where the characters are now in love and want to be together... No. Just no. It makes no sense! They didn't have any foundation before the MMC went psycho and abducted the FMC and yet after having already been abused by her ex the FMC thinks it smart to pursue a relationship with a crazy ass man who thinks it's ok to hold her captive just because he wants sex... Yet she's a supposed to be a strong black character. Make it make sense please.
