JACQUELINE FRISCHKNECHT, PhD, mother of three, earned a BA in education from the University of Colorado, and an MA in library science and a PhD in communication from the University of Denver. Beginning her career as a first-grade teacher, she ultimately became a professor of speech communication at University College in Denver and served as dean of academic affairs. She authored or coauthored eight books on education, including “Asking Smart Questions” and the SMART Studying series. Sadly, Jackie passed away in 2015 while working on “Brain Stages.” Passionate about family and learning, she would have been so excited to see her life’s work and mission come to fruition in this book.
