I read this story a few years ago, and jumped at the chance to listen to the audio. I loved the book, but the audio takes it to another level. Hearing each character in their own voice I created the emotional intensity. It's fantastic! This isn't an easy book. It deals with some deep subjects, and could be triggering, but I also think the story is beautiful in a disturbing way. The characters are deeply flawed, and I'm not sure they make each other better for being in a relationship. I also can't imagine them surviving without each other. The added epilogue brought a new flavor to the ending, and I'm excited to know there will be more books coming.

This vacation isn't all fun and games

The fourth book in K. B. Blake's Temp Job Mysteries series takes Scarlett out of the city and onto the water. There are a lot more characters in this one, and I love the way Scarlett's circle of friends is expanding. I also love that her brother is part of that circle. The setting for this one is Lake Powell, and even though I've only been there once it was easy to picture the beauty from Ms. Blake's description. The narrator, Amber Battaglia, does a fabulous job of bringing the characters to life, and the voices for each character are a window into who they are. She makes it very easy to slip into the story and leave the real world behind. There were a lot of moving parts to this mystery, and so many suspects, and I kept flip-flopping between who the culprit was. There's a nice blend of relationship building, mystery, and fun and everything comes together at the end. I can't wait for the next adventure.

Fantastic narration

I've said it before, and I know I'll say it again, but V.T. Bonds is one of my favorite authors and this series will always hold a special place in my heart. Each story is unique, the characters are always complex, they are loaded with danger and suspense, the sexy scenes are scorching, and I always finish the story with a smile on my face. They are stand alone stories, but there is an intense story arc that started in her Alpha Elite series and continues into this one, so I recommend reading starting with Unknown Omega. You won't regret it. Each story is better than the last, and each one quickly becomes my favorites, I know that's not logical but it is what it is.

I can't tell you the number of times my heart broke while I was listening this. My heart was racing and I just kept wondering how everyone would make it out alive. The chemistry between Duri and Cahress was beautiful and painful in turn, and even though I knew it would end with a HEA, I still found myself questioning if it would happen. This emotional intensity was brought about not only by the story, but by the way the narrators brought the characters to life. They made me fall in love with the story all over again.

The narrators bring the story to life

V. T. Bonds always delivers emotionally intense reads, but this one might just top the list. I feel like my heart was ripped out of my chest and stomped on. It was brutal. It kind of sounds strange to say this, but it's beautiful in all it's brutality. There were very few moments when I didn't feel like I wanted to burst into tears, but the fact that Ms. Bonds can evoke that level of emotion shows what a master she is at her craft. The situations the characters find themselves in are horrifying and their strength is beyond measure. As a survivor of childhood trauma, I could easily relate to the female character and I found her inner core both reassuring and inspiring. Nothing brings me more joy than reading about a character who lives through hell and comes out stronger. That's what this story is. No matter how bad things are, and they can be pretty bad, there is hope.

The narrators of this story do a fantastic job of bringing the characters and the story to life. Their voices are pleasant to listen to, and fit the characters nicely. it's a great way to enjoy the story.

Love listening to it even more than reading it

I love this book, and I've read it multiple times, but listening to it truly transported me into it. Having dual narration, and switching between them every time each character was speaking, made it magical. Lacy Laurel and Curt Bonnem did a fabulous job of expressing all the pain, angst, and passion this story possesses. It was fabulous!

Fantastic storytelling

I've read, and loved, every book in this series, but listening to it was a whole new level of fun. The story is written and told in dual POV, and I loved hearing the different voices for the different characters. The level of emotion, not to mention the growling, had me melting and kept me much more engrossed. It's a wonderful, emotional, steamy, suspenseful listen and shouldn't be missed. If you love all things Omegaverse you'll love this one.

Full of twists

I've said it before, but one of the things I love about this series is the setting. Don't get me wrong, I love the mystery, the characters, and Scamp, but having personal knowledge of the places adds a little something. This is the third book, and they should be ready in order because the overall story arc is going to keep you glued to the pages just as much as each mystery is. There are a lot of exciting things happening in Scarlett's life, and that includes house/dog sitting Scamp. We meet new friends, get more answers, discover new clues, and solve the puzzle. What more could you ask? The narration is always important in an audiobook, and Kristen Landon does a fabulous job of bringing a voice to each character. Her pacing and style are perfect and she does a great job of expressing whatever emotion is being experienced. The whole package is perfection.

Gothic erotica

This author is my go-to when I want something steamy and dark, with a gothic feel, and this trilogy is why. I've previously read the novellas individually, but listening to them added a decadent touch that I really appreciated. There's music, and sound effects, and Gareth J Davies has a voice that transported me to another time and place. It was magical, dark, and delicious.

Another phenomenal story

I've previously read all the books in this series, but listening to it was an even more enjoyable experience. I feel like I missed things during the read that I picked up on this time around. This is the 4th book in this series and it focuses on Santos and Rosa. I desperately needed Rosa to get a happy ending, and it was wonderful to watch Santos find his place. The heartbreak, passion, and love were everything I was hoping for these two, and I loved it.

Freaking amazing!

This is the third book in this series and they just keep getting better and better. Tavi and Elise have a really rough start, and they're both so stubborn that it's hard to see them ever reaching common ground. He's bosy and dominant. She's strong-willed and defiant. He's determined to teach her her place, she's determined to defy him at every turn. The story is full of angst and passion, and it's fabulous. The dual narration is great, and the voices fit the characters perfectly. They do a fabulous job of expressing all the right emotions and sucking you into the story. I loved every second of it!
