Revisado: 11-21-24
I needed someone to tell me what this was gonna be like before I gave it a shot. I feel like this was more about shock value than truly fascinating story.

But despite her past, she's never stopped seeing the beauty in the world . . . including the heart beneath the icy exterior of a man she shouldn't want.

Thank God It's Over
Revisado: 10-08-24
Listen, I don't like leaving bad reviews... someone put in an amount of effort into writing, and there is something for everyone. However, if this is something for you idek if we can be in the same room together. This book reads like something that would have thrived on wattpad and not in a good way. The plot feels like it was written in installments like teens leaving a bag of flaming poo on your porch. Why is Alex like Batman if Wayne enterprises focused less on tech and philanthropy and more on real estate development and threatening literally everyone with murder and financial ruin??? He had people on standby to intercept calls to 911, a tech guy to delete things from the internet, and friends in the government agencies in the US and abroad? And Ana "my damned phobia and memory nightmares" Chen, what isn't wrong with her? Why is one of her best friends a literal princess? Another an Instagram celebrity? I literally don't think I could have been less interested in the twist of the story, either. I am sorry to anyone who reads this and thinks it belongs anywhere but in the trash.

Not even close to as good as Butcher and Blackbird. I honestly wish it had been a 1 book series.

Mostly just boring
Revisado: 06-07-24
I mean. it was alright. mostly just very boring. figured out the major plot points well before they happened, and even though there was a spicy scene every five minutes or so, I found them lacking in substance. So... vanilla. this was my first vampire romance in years and I am almost turned off from trying anymore given that this one was so highly recommended...

interesting Lore and Agreeable Characters
Revisado: 04-11-24
Its hard not to enjoy this book, the main characters are interesting, and likeable (a rare thing in romance) and they have development without being awful to one another... crazy good lore and plot flows steady. when I got to the end of the book I was shocked I finished it so quickly.

Annoyingly Obvious At Times
Revisado: 12-30-22
I was a teenager once and I hope I would never have been able to take physics and advanced courses without also being able to problem solve. It ends on a twist that isn't a twist and everytime they refer to a whale as a fish, as a jersey shore native, it made me cringe. But the fishing and sea puns were definitely delicious.

Surprisingly Good
Revisado: 12-27-22
As someone with chronic pain/illness, surprisingly good representation, and almost TOO relatable. The narrator was good on her own, if somewhat dry, but her accents all sound the same. not trying to be harsh, but I'd honestly rather she not try a transatlantic accent imo. Seriously though, definitely not all bad and the story was intriguing to make me want more.

Historia
You can’t bargain with death if you’ve already sold your soul. Special agent Patrick Collins has been reassigned by the supernatural operations agency to New York City. Navigating his new relationship with Jonothon de Vere, the werewolf he’s now soulbound to, is nothing compared to dealing with territorial disputes between the vampires and werecreatures who call the five boroughs home. But the delicate treaties that have kept the preternatural world in check are fraying at the edges, and the fallout is spilling into the mundane world.

I loved the first book, and the second book is just as good. Still way over uses the word preternatural but it's only slightly annoying. love the performance too.

The Best Book Yet
Revisado: 12-12-22
I'm glad I did struggle through the first two. I found them quite infuriating, but I liked Wrath so I kept up. In this book, Emilia finally wises up and isn't quite so insufferable. And finally there is heat! In more ways than one, but I'm talking spicy scenes. This one definitely deserves a better review than the other two.

Dresden Files But Gayer
Revisado: 09-01-22
Did you read the Dresden Files, but think, "Man, if only it was gayer..."
Well than this is the novel series for you! I loved every second of it. The voice acting is incredible, and the one guy who said otherwise is absolutely wrong. He did actual voices, not just one for everyone, even if a couple sounded kinda similar. You always knew who was who in a scene. And it was easy to listen to quickly because I never wanted to put it down.
