Lazy
Revisado: 01-31-25
First of all, the narrator of “Die Trying” was much better than the first audiobook “The Killing Floor”. My problem with this novel was the use of white supremacists as the antagonists. My gosh! Are they the only villains left in this woke society? Seems like they are always the bad guys.

Historia
In 2008, nine mountaineers failed to return from a winter backpacking trip in the New Mexico mountains. At their final campsite, searchers found a bizarre scene: something had appeared at the door of their tent so terrifying that it impelled them to slash their way out and flee barefoot to certain death in a blizzard. Despite a diligent search, only six bodies were found, two violently crushed and inexplicably missing their eyes. The case, given the code name “Dead Mountain” by the FBI, was never solved. Now, two more bodies from the lost expedition are unexpectedly discovered in a cave.

Not as much action as usual but an interesting mystery to solve. The whole thing with Skip was filler in my opinion.

Not very good
Revisado: 06-08-23
The production quality is poor. The narrator is average. The story was ok but I doubt I’ll listen to any more in this series. I was expecting a little more humor but this just didn’t deliver.

Nora agrees to lead an expedition to locate and excavate it-to reveal its long-buried secrets. Once in the mountains, they learn that discovering the camp is only the first step in a mounting journey of fear.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

What Happened?!
Revisado: 06-02-21
“14” is one of my favorite novels of all time with “The Fold” close behind. I even kind of liked “Paradox Unbound”. “Dead Moon” was DOA.
With “Terminus” concluding the Threshold Series, I was expecting greatness. What I got was kind of ehh. Ray Porter was great as usual but he couldn’t save this one. I guess Clines ran out of ideas. Come on Peter! We know you can do better.

Sad story about a mentally ill woman. Yes, Emmon was a woman whether she wanted to be or not. The story wasn’t that interesting. Not sure why this person’s life and death warranted a podcast miniseries.

Historia
In 1999, Emmon Bodfish was murdered in his home in the wealthy enclave of Orinda, California, just east of San Francisco. For the young crime-scene analyst Paul Holes, it quickly became the most bizarre and surprising case of his storied career. It was immediately clear how Emmon had died: by being hit over the head with a heavy object. What wasn’t clear was who did it and why.

Historia
Something is bothering Christopher Bennett, and not just in a figurative sense. He seems like an unremarkable boy living a nondescript life in the west Texas town of San Angelo. However, Chris has a purpose that goes far beyond his wildest imagination. Getting Back to San Angelo is a fictional adventure that follows a group of children from elementary school through to early adulthood. This audiobook describes their interpersonal and spiritual journeys as each character attempts to come to terms with the darkness that has pursued them from childhood.

Great story

Having lived in San Angelo for many years, this novel was like going home for a while. It brought back many good memories. It’s reminiscent of King’s “IT” but I think overall, a better story.
