They got everything they wanted...but never had each other.
Touré Wallace and Niomi Spencer were close friends at Finley College, the prestigious HBCU they attended. The attraction that simmered between them every semester was a question they never got to ask or answer before soaring ambitions launched them to opposite corners of the world. Both chased their dreams of grit and glamor as high-profile journalists. They got it all...except a shot at being more than friends.
Years later, Touré is an award-winning investigative journalist and Niomi is America's most popular morning-show host, but they both feel like something’s missing. When their alma mater recruits its most famous alums for an interview during homecoming, every look, every touch is electric. The air hums with what could have been, and they're tempted by what they could have right now, if only for one weekend. Have they traveled the world, chasing something special, when all it took was coming home?
Featuring the musical stylings of Southern University’s marching band, Human Jukebox!

You could feel the passion between these two, and I loved that they got another chance to finally take their shot with each other! The vibes for this book were just immaculate, and listening to the band during Touré grand gesture had me close to tears cause it truly put me back to my HBCU days.
I’ll definitely be rereading this one! Wesleigh and Jakobi know how to invoke an emotion in their narration that is untouched!

Great story

1. It was narrated by two of my favorite narrators, Wesleigh Siobhan and Jakobi Diem. When they are together, it becomes a must purchase.
2. I loved the HBCU aspect. I attended a PWI, but this reminded me of fond memories of attending step shows with my girls.
3. Toure' and Naomi just made my heart fill full. They were both such likable characters. I also loved they were able to reconnect.
4. I loved the positivity of this book. Toure' started the healing process with his daughter. He had revelations about what was most important to him.
5. Something else I appreciated about this book was that the main characters were more mature. It gets tiring reading about 20 somethings so often it feels like once you hit your early 30's, life ends.
This was an uplifting, sweet, romance with a touch of steam that I thoroughly enjoyed. I wish it had been a full length novel.
