This book has come up on my Amazon suggested books to purchase for a while, as soon as I saw it on audible, I went for it. (I listen to books all day when I work.)

The building of the story was awesome. Typically with supernatural books, I can guess in the first couple chapters where the book is going to go. This book kept me guessing constantly.

All I am going to say is cliffhanger stinks but I am so excited for the next book. I don’t want to give more away, because I despise when I happen upon spoilers whilst reading reviews. I am following the author and have an alert set for the next in the series. It is DEFINITELY worth the money/credit!

What a great first book in a new series! I love the shadow world that Eva Chase has created and am excited at the possibility of getting to see new and possibly old characters again. The narrators are fantastic and I look forward to more books in this series.

Really enjoyed this even though the burn was a little too slow. Hope the sex scenes pick up in the next books.

This was a great start to the series! I loved Riva. She is a great character. I’m so interested in her power. I cannot wait to read the next one. The narrators were perfect and made the story come to life.

Wow this book is so good that I finished it in one day. I don't want to give anything away. But I will say that I found myself get mad when Riva got mad. It was like I was feeling what she was feeling. but not just her even feeling what the four guys were feel too. I can hands down say this book is going to into my favorites

From the very beginning, this book absolutely grabbed on, and once it sunk in it’s claws, it never let go. Primarily, this is told from Riva’s POV, with chapters mixed in from each of her guys POVs. The depth of emotion that is conveyed, made even more intense with the excellent narration, was so much more than I was expecting. From the loss in the very beginning, to her escape, to her devastation when she realizes her guys don’t feel the same as they did before their worlds were ripped apart. As she tries to stay strong, hoping they’ll see the truth, hoping they’ll find their way back to what they once were, to wondering if that is ever possible, to the deepest depths of devastation that push her to do the unthinkable. These characters are so intriguing, with their mysterious powers, and even more mysterious origins. The four guys, Jacob, Andreas, Dominic, and Zian each struggling with their own ‘talents’ and demons, their own emotional upheaval from believing that Riva betrayed them for her own selfish gain, each dealing with it in their own ways. Jacob is most definitely the harshest of the bunch, but each of them turns on the ice when it comes to Riva, which is all the more crushing as Riva has only ever done everything to get back to them, to be with them. I fully anticipate some epic levels of groveling to occur when all truly comes to light, and I’m completely here for it.

The pacing in this book is great. Fast paced and engrossing, and that cliffhanger ending! Gimme more! I think we’ve really only scratched the surface on these characters, and I would have liked to have seen a little more depth to them in this first book, but I feel like there’s much more to come there. That didn’t stop me from feeling the betrayal, the hurt, and the pain from every angle.

As I mentioned the narration is fantastic. Adam Gold absolutely brings the growly, alpha vibes with each of the guys, while still giving each of them their own voice and their own emotions. Meanwhile, Amber Lee Conyers does a masterful job of voicing Riva and all her pain, hope, despair, pain, fury, and love. Absolutely brilliantly done, and made the story all the more enthralling. I cannot WAIT for more of this series.

I really liked this storyline, the unique characters, and their abilities. Terrific audio narration from all POV's.
There were a few things I had an issue with, storyline wise, that I kept arguing with the book as I read. My 3.5 rating rounds up to 4, as I really did love the concept and would like to see where the story goes next.
