Inner Calling is a podcast about the courageous, and often terrifying, journey of living from your most authentic, innermost truths.

Here, we explore the deeper existential questions of life, including:

  • What is the meaning and significance of your life?
  • What is the purpose of my life and how do you find it?
  • How do you find and trust your own voice in a world filled with so many others?
  • How do you connect to your intuition and begin to trust it to guide you?

Hosted by board-certified clinical psychologist Dr. Victoria Ranade, Inner Calling integrates mental health and spirituality—blending evidence-based psychology, inclusive spiritual wisdom, and personal reflection to guide you through life’s hardest seasons and back to the innermost truths within you.

Spirituality is your connection to something greater than yourself—whether you call it God, the Universe, love, or the crazy mystery that is Life. It’s also your relationship with your highest self—the wise, steady presence within you that remembers who you are, even when you forget. We take an inclusive approach to spirituality, exploring wisdom from a variety of spiritual traditions and discuss how to integrate spiritual practices into everyday life—grounded in evidence-based psychology and guided by your own personal reflection.

Our greatest intention is to help you:

  • Becoming | Cultivate your own inner garden of peace
    May 15 2025

There are many important steps to making contact with your innermost self—your truest, most essential self. In this episode, Dr. Victoria explores one of the most foundational: creating an inner space that nurtures that connection.

Most of us are surrounded by noise—scrolling, comparing, striving, absorbing the voices of others. From social media to the news, to the messages we’ve carried since childhood, it can be hard to hear ourselves beneath it all.

But beneath the noise, is you—a Self that is steady, clear, and wise.

This episode is an invitation to begin clearing space within. To notice the noise without becoming it. To treat your inner world as something sacred—because it is.

You get to choose what you allow in, and in doing so, you will return to a quieter truth that’s been within you all along.

    This week’s practice:

Pay attention to what you’re letting into your inner space. Curate it with care. Create moments of stillness, because it’s in stillness that you are able to feel your own presence, which is deeply healing.

Thank you for listening. We're grateful for you!

  • Reflection | Finding stability by flowing with life
    May 9 2025

What is true stability in life? Is it possible?

Many of us chase stability through routines, relationships, or success—anything that gives the illusion of control. But when life unravels, we often fall into anxiety or self-blame, believing we’ve failed to hold everything together.

Dr. Victoria offers a deeper, more liberating perspective: what if real stability isn’t about control at all, but about learning to flow with life’s changes? In this foundational episode, she introduces the metaphor of surfing to explore how we can ride the waves of change instead of resisting them. You’ll learn how surrendering to life’s rhythms—even when they feel chaotic—can build a lasting sense of inner strength and freedom.

This week's practice: Realize you don’t have to hold everything together. You only have to show up for the wave in front of you. You can let go—and trust that you’re still held. Meditate on this quote by Jon Kabat Zinn: "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf."

Featured in this episode: the work of photographer Jess Loiterton, whose art beautifully captures the spirit of surfing and surrender. Her imagery is featured throughout our podcast. You can see more of her work at adventuresofjess.studio.
