Publisher's summary

Your child is smart, but does he or she believe it?

"Smart" is a power word. Children who believe they’re smart excel more in school and approach life with greater confidence. But children who don’t can struggle to apply themselves. Do you wish your child could see how smart he or she is?

Find hope in Eight Great Smarts. You’ll be empowered and equipped with new language and creative ideas for how to:

  • Accept and affirm your child’s unique smarts
  • Motivate your child to learn and study with all eight smarts
  • Reawaken any "paralyzed" smarts
  • Redirect misbehavior in new, constructive ways
  • Guide your child spiritually and relationally a good career fit

Dr. Kathy Koch loves seeing children flourish and helping parents make it happen—and it’s never too late to start. Now is the time to help your child be all that God designed him or her to be.

Learn your child’s personality

What a wonderful explanation of different learning, and personality types that may be different than the parent.
This book will remind us to be patient with children, and understand how they differently they each learn.
Not understanding has the potential to stunt their mental health/growth or learning style. This book was very informative.

Very helpful information.

This has been very helpful information to relate to my kids, my husband. And to understand myself. I plan on listening to it again

Everyone should know about this

I believe this information can be life changing to children, it can make a significant impact in them reaching their full potential and grow up to be healthy, happy and productive persons. This should be taught at schools for sure may as well be the most impactful and most important knowledge they’ll acquire. But also anyone can benefit from identifying their smarts and awakening the ones that had been shut down due to criticism from others. This really helped me understand many things about myself and moving forward it will be beneficial. But most importantly I’m grateful to know about this to better help my children know themselves, develop a an informed healthy self esteem and work towards acquiring the tools necessary for their individual growth. Thank you Kathy and thank you Dr. Gardner for an inspired discovery.

A must-read!

I got this book to better understand my children & give me guidance for homeschool, but I ended up learning even more about myself! It has already improved the way I look at myself, my children & others!

Important information and you should listen, but …

The information provided in this book was extremely helpful, and I will highly recommend it to people. If you are a teacher is definitely worth listening through the whole book, but as a parent I definitely think it could have been condensed down mainly for the reason that I am sick of hearing the word “smart” and so much so my wife and son where unable to finish the book but, it is worth a listen.
