Publisher's summary

In this collection of short talks, I tried to link together what I thought was crucial and important in the fitness field - and in sports in general - that sometimes don't work very well in something like a book or an article. These are all too long for an article, and too short for a book. But they're all very important principles, and these are all concepts I think need to be linked together.

More Please

All of Dan John's books should be available via Audible. Great information without the testosterone-fueled idiocy of most coaches trying to sell books.

"Simple" recommendations from movement to flossing

Would you listen to A Lifelong Approach to Fitness again? Why?

Dan John returns simplicity and modesty to training rather than trying to make everything so fancy and difficult. Although overall fitness is not easy, it should be simple.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Lifelong Approach to Fitness?

There is a different overall tone when a student of philosophy teaches fitness which is why I have enjoyed Dan John's books and lectures so much. I find I learn new information and hear great ways to "sell" it to clients.

Which scene was your favorite?

Simple vs Easy explanation

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The explanation of modest workouts and modest diets to have sustainability with periods of higher intensity to get results a little faster.

Great expansion on previous ideas.

I've read probably everything Dan John has ever written and this was by far the best listen as he expands into the context of his ideas and where you should go with it in beginning to understand the methods. Smart man with an extended knowledge of practical methods that you can immediately implement. Always great Coach.

More a great conversation than a book

This “audiobook” is really more of a conversation than anything else. That being said, the subject matter is fitness but the essence is philosophy. I love listening to Dan John speak. This book is great for anyone looking for direction in their heath. It contains som gems you just won’t get anywhere else.
Enjoy

Dan John at his best

Full of valuable insight that will promote both healthy living and athletic performance. The book is largely conceptual, and will be most beneficial to you if read with a thoughtful approach
