Publisher's summary

A deliciously dark tale of power and survival...Follow along as Riven, a seemingly Mortal woman, is lured from her village on a Red Moon night. By a strange twist of cruel fate, she is held captive, beaten and starved by Faye creatures that she wasn't sure existed until now. All for a magic she didn't know she had. She's faced with a decision to give in. Take the easy way out and let the realms fall into chaos under an ancient being. Or fight back with everything she has.

Solid Fantasy!

Overall this was a really good fantasy. I think the narrator did a solid job overall, but I was not expecting their to be entire chapters from a male perspective with her doing the male voice the ENTIRE chapter lol this really thew me off, especially when she was pretending to be a man talking about his sexual encounters and explicit content. It felt so strange and made it hard to enjoy the explicit aspects. But again, I thoroughly enjoyed the actual storyline itself and the main characters!

Loved it!

I loved reading this book the first time and listening to it felt like reading it again for the first time. Rylee did such a good job at bringing it to life and being able to differentiate between the different characters. I loved it!

A different type of ending than what I anticipated

The ending did take a different turn and I loved it. Way different from what I’ve read.

Good story

The story itself is great, The author does a good job keeping you on your toes. I do wish there was more world building involved, I feel like I would have been more immersed in the story if I had more detail throughout the beginning of the book. The characters are likable, and the FMC is strong. Overall, the book is good. The narration is great, the different voices for the characters and inflection keeps you engaged.

Weak story

I really wanted to like this book but the story was chaotic and jumped all over the place. Also had duel points of views which made it harder to keep up with the already weak and confusing story line. You had about 100+ characters while just try to grasp the main characters personality. No dynamic relationships built and I was several hours into book. Not for me.

Weak woman protagonist

If you hate SWs and love weak woman as well as no coherent structure for characters you’ll LOVE this book. Personally, I want my money back. This was awful. Best part was the summary. To the author, love…sketch out your characters BEFORE writing them. And warn others in the summary you write weak ass women.
