About this listen

In the ruins of Caswell, Maine, Carter Bennett learned the truth of what had been right in front of him the entire time. And then it - he - was gone.

Desperate for answers, Carter takes to the road, leaving family and the safety of his pack behind, all in the name of a man he only knows as a feral wolf. But therein lies the danger: wolves are pack animals, and the longer Carter is on his own, the more his mind slips toward the endless void of Omega insanity.

But he pushes on, following the trail left by Gavin.

Gavin, the son of Robert Livingstone. The half-brother of Gordo Livingstone.

What Carter finds will change the course of the wolves forever. Because Gavin's history with the Bennett pack goes back further than anyone knows, a secret kept hidden by Carter's father, Thomas Bennett.

And with this knowledge comes a price: The sins of the fathers now rest upon the shoulders of their sons.

Contains mature themes.

Prepare for the Epic and Awesome Finale

This is as usual for TJ a heartwrenching and emotional final installment of the Green Creek series. It's beautiful, between the writing, the emotions, the story and the PACKPACKPACK, you aren't let down.

Kirt does his usual amazing job bringing these beautiful characters to life. His voices have carried through from Wolfsong to Brothersong, keeping each voice very clear in who it is, and the emotional depth he is able to evoke is stunning.

Honestly one of the absolute best series I've ever read.

Mystical Moon Magic.

Keep going. It only gets better

A satisfying ending for the last book in the series. At first it was an average sort of listen. Then it bloomed into a lovely world.

Fantastic ending to the series.

This is the final book in the Green Creek series. The beautiful, exciting story of Carter and Gavin was the perfect ending to the Bennett family saga. TJ Klune is a master storyteller. His books are always so well written that the characters seem to exist outside the pages of their story and as readers, rather then simply reading two dimensional words on a page, we are invited spectators at an outside window, hands cupped around our faces, just watching real people live their lives. This book is no exception, the characters have dimension, they experience growth, and they have full realistic personalities. Gavin and Carter’s love story started in the previous books as an unconventional one - a wolf shifter stuck as a wolf and a shifter who easily shifts between man and wolf. The book begins where Heartsong left off - Gavin has left with Robert Livingstone in order to save Carter and Carter, being a martyr, starts after Gavin alone leaving his pack, including his brother/tether Kelly, behind. The overriding theme of all the Green Creek books is family, is packpackpack. So of course the pack will be part of the story, the journey of Carter and Gavin, and the evil that is Robert Livingstone. Despite being a darkish fantasy, there is also light here, goodness, hope, love, and redemption. Like the other books in this series, along their journey, Gavin and Carter also deal with their individual issues without magically making them vanish. The storyline is rich with emotion including tender moments, hilarity, mundane life snippets, violence, and tense scenes. It gives you all the feels - horror, anger, love, sadness, resignation, and annoyance. Kirt Graves is perfect in his narration. His voice adds even more depth to these characters. This book wraps up all the storylines and while I will miss the pack, I am not worried about unresolved issues. All is well in Green Creek and with the pack.

Loved it, funny and endearing wolf talk

Audiobook Review by Mel
4 Blue Roses

Narrator Kirt Graves packed a walloping punch delivering the fourth and final installment of the Green Creek series. Pack, pack pack!

His usual calm and lower neutral baritone was challenged by hours of dialogues with little to no action. Although he has the capacity to switch from male to female and any age group effortlessly, the constant talking and time-wasting had me pulling my hair out. This was an extremely challenging book to narrate as the author has written it to almost sound like a play.

The predictability of the book does not matter. The intimate storytelling itself stuck like new velcro. The fantastic group dynamics within the pack and the town caused me to intimately know them all. The bantering and almost innocent child-like conversations between the wolves caused me to want to shift and talk wolf myself. Mel tired, Mel hungry you feed me NOW!

High angst and bouts of ridiculous childish humour balanced the high levels of anticipation of something bad is going to happen. While we waited for the shit to hit the fan, we were entertained by wolf dialogues, digesting their sexuality and other group dynamics which in my opinion were masterfully done. I can see why this series is so well-loved. The writer introduces each member of the pack in detail, which is why listeners not only fall in love but also associate with the characters. The approach the writer took to skillfully introduce the various LGBTQIA+ persons and their relationships is a wonderful way to inspire cohesion and mutual understanding not only for the younger audience exclusively but also their significant others.

Look when that demon wolf with one red eye landed on the cabin roof. I fisted the air and thought yes baby we are going to see some action, but unfortunately, they drove off leaving him there, I was like WTF? They went kumbaya-ing making smores around the campfire?

I do recommend this whole series. It preens originality. Personally, I would have liked a bit more sex, but given the chosen audience, I will suck it up or zip it up and enjoy it for what it is.

Happy Listening

Such a wonderful book

This book is incredible, and Kirt Graves has imbued every character with so much personality that it is impossible not to immediately know which character is speaking. Love, love, love this book.
