Getting healthier from your own chair
I love the idea of everyone getting healthier, even those who spend a lot of time in a chair, such as seniors and others with medical issues. The author wrote Chair Yoga for Seniors Made Easy as a means to improve the health of even those who may be less mobile than others.
In the audiobook, there are chapters that include strength building, stretching and exercises designed to be done from a chair. As a bonus, there PDF shows how the exercises should be safely done. I know that all seniors need yoga from time to time. This is because if we don't exercise, our bones become weak, and if we fall, it's going to be very painful. I know the book is advertised as being for seniors, but having worked remotely for a few years now, this book is great for the remote warrior as well. Lasting ROA (range of motion)
It’s a pretty bold statement to claim that improved flexibility, vitality, and balance in less than a month is doable, however the truth is, IT IS!! And one only has to dive into the “bendy” truth by spending time on some of the chair yoga poses. The flexibility one can access (not to mention the long-lasting improvements in ROA (Range of motion)) is absolutely astounding and the fact that it can be done from the kitchen chair is just awesome. This is the perfect workout for not only myself in the morning to wake myself up before the first coffee kicks in, but mostly for my parents in their 70s, who are quite active, but can ramp up how much better their bodies feel by practicing the helpful and beneficial poses in this tile (from home I might add). There are even meditation practices that go hand in hand with the poses. Thank you Eleanor Peak for dishing out tons of great practices to improve range of motion, mindfulness, and a ton more.
