Publisher's summary

When Noel Dupree’s mother passes away from a sudden illness, she inherits the family home and their much-loved florist business. While still in mourning, her unscrupulous father resurfaces after many years’ absence and finds a way to undermine her mother’s will. Without regard for Noel’s welfare, he claims everything is rightly his, and the family lawyer can’t produce documents to prove otherwise. By invitation from her best friend, Noel makes a hard choice to leave her childhood hometown in upstate New York and journey to the friend’s house in Pensacola, Florida. Together, they will try to devise a plan for Noel’s future.

Fate steps in when a blinding rainstorm causes her to miss a turn, leading her to an unlikely place, and an uncertain destiny. Brought low by circumstances and struggling to make ends meet, she takes shelter in the least desirable location and accepts a graveyard-shift job. The last thing Noel is looking for is romance, but a chance meeting with a handsome, young lawyer named Liam Grant makes her reconsider. Could she accept his dinner invitations and make it through the Christmas holiday without revealing her destitute condition?

good but sad

This book was well written. It was sad because she lost everything. When you try to put her life back together she had more dumps in the road. But her happiness finally comes.

Sweet Holiday

Great story, very enjoyable. Has a little bit of everything love, a bad guy, family, community and faith. I feel in love with the town and it's people. The story is set around the holiday season and they celebrate the true meaning behind them. A nice, sweet and sentimental read. The narrator has a very soothing voice.

Noel and Liam

What a sweet story! The characters are well developed. I love Noel and Liam! Both are good hearted people. Noel is a bit too independent and proud but has a heart of gold in caring for others. She does not hold the negatives of a few against everyone. I absolutely could see Noel’s father doing what he did. I would love to have heard what else he did that was illegal. I guess this is so I can enjoy his prison sentence more? Love Karma! There are too many people like that in this world unfortunately. Overall, it was a well written story. It was a joy to listen to. The narration was excellent. I am looking forward to listening to more works by this author and narrator. I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Fun story. Very engaging narration.

This was a fun story that really came to life through the narration. Each character was distinct, with a voice fitting the personality. The narrator's male voices felt natural and seamless. I most enjoy narrators that are able to do believable voices no matter the gender of the character. Articulation and cadence were top-notch.

Sweet Romance!

This was my first Irene Onorato's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in the Holiday Corral Romance Series. Noel and Liam's story is sweet, cute, fun, and heartwarming, filled with drama, and twists and turns. Noel is a beautiful character, independent, and strong. Liam is handsome, caring, supportive, and protective. They are perfect together. Liam's family is amazing, and the supporting characters are interesting. The storyline is intriguing, but predictable. I like the ending. Natalie Simpson did a good job with the narration. She has a great range of voices. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to the next book in the series.

Enjoyable story

In the midst of grief over her mother’s unexpected death, Noel is hit by calamity after calamity. Just when you think she has hit rock bottom, something else happens! She ends up in a small town in the middle of nowhere and when some kind strangers offer to help her, she decides it is as good a place anywhere to stay and she tries to rebuild her life up from nothing. I really appreciated the kindness shown to her by people who had no idea she was in that bad a strait, reminding me that kindness to others is important as you don’t know what they are going through.
