Publisher's summary

An elven prince. The son of an orc warlord. In two warring nations, their arranged marriage brings peace. They never expected to fall in love.

Prince Taegan Glynzeiros has prepared since childhood to fight and lead armies against invading orc forces, the enemies of elves for hundreds of years. But after a successful peace treaty, the elven prince will not be fighting orcs, but marrying one.

The first words he speaks to Zorvut are their wedding vows. Despite being considered the runt amongst the orc warlord’s children, Taegan finds him to be intelligent and thoughtful—everything the stereotypes about orcs say he shouldn’t be. He doesn’t want to fall in love, but Zorvut’s gentle soul makes it difficult to resist. Worse, their marriage bond, forged by ancient elven magic between their minds, proves to be a far deeper and stronger connection than anyone expected. Despite their trepidation, a genuine relationship blossoms from the political union.

But such a long war is not easily forgotten, and there are both elves and orcs who want to see them apart. When a dark secret comes to light, threatening to nullify the very peace treaty that brought them together, Taegan must decide if his feelings for Zorvut are worth fighting for.

This steamy MM fantasy romance, the first in the Orc Prince trilogy, features an arranged marriage with delicious size difference, and contains light omegaverse/A/B/O elements (mpreg is discussed as an in-world possibility, but does not happen on the page). This 18+ novel contains explicit scenes. If that's not your thing, Lionel Hart probably isn't the author for you.

Content warnings: discussions of parental death, infidelity (not between main characters), hunting, and animal death.

Utterly charming

I have read this trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was excited to see it available on audio, but I always hesitate a little to listen to books I have already read and liked. Sometimes, it just doesn't live up to expectations or bring the story anything new. In this case, I have to say I deeply enjoyed this audio and eagerly look forward to the rest of the trilogy. The story is sweet and exciting, well worth taking its time to fully unfold over the course of three books. The narration never lags and is well performed, not turning the orcs into cartoons. Highly recommend!

Outstanding story

I liked the character and the plot of the story and every edge had me hoping stuff wouldn’t happen and of course it did maybe in one way or another. It was worth the read and the character emotions were scripted very well. I would read this a second time. I only have it 4 stars because it left me questioning some things that I would have liked to be brought to light or revealed in the story.

Loved it!

This was a cute story, it had a good balance of spice and plot. I’m excited to see where the next one goes with world building. I’m invested, hoping book 2 is out in audio soon!

They’re both cool.

RIP horsey :( you were the best. Also, very neat worldbuilding, what with the elvish emotion bond and all.

Good start. Ready for more

The cons: A few questionable moments with some stupid character decisions that don’t make sense. The story was a bit predictable.

The pros:
Nice and steamy. Super steamy. Loved the world building and fantasy elements.

Another orc book that I LOVE

THIS WAS SO REFRESHING

I have read a few orc romance where the orcs are not kind when first meeting the leads. And they even do a lot of lying and manipulating and the leads usually forgive them- with that being said!!! This marriage of convenience was so lovely!! Ugh I can’t stress that ENOUGH. And elf slick???!!!?? Pls I don’t remember my Ao3 login!! Read it I swear read it!!!

The spice was good but I was hoping for a little more feeling.

I wasn’t a fan of the narration. It didn’t dive home the feelings there were available. To me it was just like a little cold.
