Publisher's summary

Kari Stuart is roped into helping out at a dog show - but soon finds she’s bitten off more than she can chew when her best friend is framed for murder in this new Catskills Pet Rescue Mystery.

When the woman running the big regional dog show calls out sick, dog groomer Suz Holden is asked to take over. But it’s too much for her to handle by herself - considering the president of the kennel club, Olivia Weiner, criticizes her at every turn - so she calls in her best friend, Kari Stuart, for help.

A long, stressful day goes from bad to worse when a local breeder is found dead, and the murder weapon seems to incriminate Suz.

While Kari knows her friend isn’t guilty, the police aren’t so sure, especially after a second murder points to Suz again. But trying to run a dog show and investigate a murder at the same time is like herding cats, and Kari will have to rely on the rest of the Serenity Sanctuary staff to keep things running smoothly while she - and her beloved and clever kitten, Queenie - sniff out the truth.

Pleasant a change of dog pace

delightful little cozy mystery featuring a clever kitten, a handsome veterinarian, and a spunky shelter owner. takes place at a dog show and is actually spot on with the AKC information. what a pleasant change from some of the other dog books. I didn't get irritated at any misinformation, LOL

Entertaining Cozy Mystery

This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. The story is very well paced. The mystery is interesting. I didn't love the dog show setting, but it makes sense with the theme. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment.

Pretty good

This is a pretty good cozy mystery with engaging characters and an entertaining plot. The pace is a bit slow but the story is entertaining. I look forward to the next book.

Came for Deborah Blake, stayed for Queenie!

Queenie is the most well-written non human character I’ve read in a long while. Kari may not be a witch but she has a familiar 🐈‍⬛✨

Great second book!

Thank you for a wonderful, light hearted, mystery. I really enjoyed figuring out who-dun-it. And I love Queenie's helpful contributions. I really hope there is another book coming!

A fun series

This book is a cute follow up to the first book in the series. After spending her lottery winnings on saving a local animal shelter, Kari Stuart finds herself helping her best friend at the regional dog show. But things quickly get out of hand when a local dog breeder turns up dead and Kari’s friend is the main suspect. Now Kari, with the help of her rescue kitten Queenie, will have to find the real killer before time runs out.

Dog gone deadly

I really liked this book the mystery wasn’t very hard to solve though I wish it would’ve been a little more mentally stimulating. As far as the characters the dialogue the information about animals were spot on and I loved it it was entertaining but not much of a mystery. So if you’re looking for a mystery that’s intellectually challenging this would not be the book but if you’re looking for entertainment and lots of things about animals this is the book for you.
