A Refreshing Look at Personal Growth

This book really made me take a step back and reflect on some habits I hadn’t even realized were toxic. One part that stood out to me was the section on self-reflection through journaling—I started doing the writing exercises, and it helped me see my reactions in a whole new light. I also shared some of the conflict resolution strategies with my daughter, who was struggling with a friendship, and she said it helped her approach the situation differently.

Rethinking my communication style

I use Teams messaging every single day for work, and sometimes it’s easy to forget how what you type can come off the wrong way. This book really got me thinking about how my words might be taken differently than I meant them—especially when I’m stressed or in a hurry. It talks about how to be more aware of how you sound, not just when you talk, but when you write too.

It also helped me catch some patterns I didn’t realize I had, like reacting too quick or being short when I’m frustrated. There’s a lot in here about self-awareness, emotional control, and actually making your communication more thoughtful. It’s not just about fixing “toxic” stuff—it’s about learning how to do better, day by day.

Made Me Pause and Reflect Often

I listened to this while sitting on my porch one afternoon and ended up feeling more thoughtful than I expected. The narrator’s voice is calm and steady, which helped me stay open to some hard truths. The short techniques were easy to understand and gave me small steps to try right away. It reminded me of when a friend kindly called me out years ago and it stuck with me. This audiobook feels like that—gentle but honest guidance that pushes you to do better.

Good book

This book does not just talk about toxic behavior, but also how to change them.

It covers good topics such as setting boundaries, stopping toxic texting and passive aggressive. The self-reflection exercise are good; they really got me thinking! also the no phone rule is something that I definitely needs to look into.
I highly recommend this book if you are looking to improve how you intereact with others.

HELPFUL, HONEST, AND EASY TO APPLY

Gave this one a go out of curiosity and ended up really appreciating how down-to-earth and useful it was. The tips aren’t complicated or preachy—they’re actually stuff you can use in everyday situations. It helped me spot a few habits I didn’t realize were affecting my relationships and gave me tools to shift things in a healthier direction. Felt more like a conversation than a lecture, which I liked a lot. If you're into self-awareness and personal growth, this one's worth the listen.
