Publisher's summary

Love will capture its prey, especially on Predator Planet.

Esra Weaver, exo-geologist, is hired for the Kerberos-90 Mining expedition, but when she awakens in her Emergency Egress Pod on a tropical, uninhabited planet, she realizes her life has taken a drastic turn for the worse. Predator Planet tries to kill her with every step, and Esra soon discovers it also harbors a mysterious alien out for blood. When danger and death converge on her, her hunter becomes her savior, and when her feelings for him evolve, she realizes she must battle not only Predator Planet, but also her past to make room in her heart for an unexpected but passionate future.

Naraxthel Roika, Mighty Hunter of the Ikthekal race, discovers the existence of a spy on his hunting grounds planet. With blood and fury in his veins, he tracks her down, only to discover that she isn’t a spy at all, but a mighty little hunter in her own right. Against centuries of tradition and physiology, Naraxthel’s heart-home begins the biological changes that indicate he has discovered his mate. He tries to fight what his heart is trying to tell him, but love doesn’t distinguish between star systems, and it won’t stop drawing them closer, even if the consequence is exile—or death.
Together, along with Naraxthel’s hunting party, they must embark on a dangerous and desperate journey to reclaim not only Naraxthel’s place in his society, but also to capture their love and make it their own.

its the audio version that did me in..

I should have just read the kindle version. While the audiobook wasn't terrible it wasn't great either and the story really had me for a bit that I forgot I was listening but there is only so much the author can do to a main character that had me turning this off.. I mean.. yikes! Basically the female lead lands on a jurassic like planet and without the help of her AI or her amazing and perfect protective suit, she would be toast. I liked the female lead, she was smart until she wasn't, until she made a couple of really tstl decisions near the end that just had me smh and rolling my eyes. I had a hard time picturing the aliens, I don't know why. I didn't find them that sexy sounding. As per usual with all these alien sci fi romance books, its the damsel in distress trope, tiny women I need to protect her trope, protective alien who is smart but misses the big picture. Not sure if I will continute. I would like to say that the author was alright, the writing wasn't bad, until the ending and after the somewhat slow burn of the reletionship we don't even get the scene where they finally get together, so if you are looking for spice look elsewhere, the spice level in this book is loooow basically 2 scenes where there is oral and I got the cringe vibes, hello hygiene!

Red and Esra

It begins here. Esra awakes on Predator Planet and begins to figure out how to survive and maybe leave. Strong female lead despite the overwhelming odds when everything on the planet is trying to kill you. It was quite the enjoyable listen. Two beings try to communicate as Esra tries to understand what is happening. The characters are interesting and well-written. Sometimes it takes a hot second to figure out who is talking but overall great narration. IT kept popping up in my suggestions. So glad I listened this time. Looking forward to what happens next.
