Publisher's summary

Jackal Emerson has never taken himself seriously. Dubbed the “orgy king”, he’s renowned for his reputation as the wild End Man. But with the uprising on the horizon and his best friend missing, Jackal is having a hard time living the same carefree existence.

And then he meets a thief and everything changes.

Phoenix Moyo, principal dancer of a notorious ballet company, lives a life of rigidity. When her world collides with Jackal’s, their chemistry is evident to everyone except her. Forced to work with him to steal the most precious commodity of the Regions, she realizes too late that there is no escaping Jackal’s charisma.

When unimaginable crimes come to light, the Regions begin to crumble. No one is safe. Families divide and secrets are exposed, danger running rampant on every side. For some, sacrifice costs everything.

The Jackal and the Phoenix

Audiobook
Jackal didn’t immediately begin where Folsom ended. Jackal began with the Blue Region partying with an End Man. Blue region was having a different set of circumstances than that of the Red Region. The Blue Region continued to party with their End Man unknowingly while Folsom’s life was unraveling.

Jackal’s character was quite the opposite of Folsom’s. Jackal’s obligation as an End Man was met with a different perspective than Folsom’s. I appreciated the different approach, yet my heart wanted more of Folsom’s story. This interruption from Jackal had me questioning if Tarryn and Willow planned to write a book for each End Man. I felt like Folsom’s story was left unfinished.

Narrators:
Alexander Candese narrated Folsom’s character once again.
Lee Samuels performed Jackal’s voice. This was a better performance than Folsom’s narrated performance.
Summer Roberts narrated Phoenix’s voice. Her performance was tone perfect. She didn’t just read the words she brought Phoenix’s character to life.
I enjoyed Lee and Summer’s performance. They enhanced my listening experience. This was a revisit to a book I read upon release. I always hope that my audiobook purchase will enhance my experience and they aimed to please.

Story:
A ballerina and the orgie king are an unlikely match, yet Jackal refers to Phoenix as a challenge and Phoenix refers to Jackal as a player. They each have an agenda. Meeting by coincidental circumstance while romance is considered dead.
This was about characters taken back what belong to them by starting a revolution.

Overall:
Jackal’s are hunters by nature. A fitting name for a lady charmer. I grew impatient with Jackal and his blasé attitude towards the Revolution. It took me a long time to come to terms that this book was going to show a different perspective about an End Man experience. Once I wrapped my head around the fact that Folsom’s story was going to have to wait I finally started to appreciate the story. This book gave me chills several times when information was being presented. At times I was laughing out loud.

I have one concern that has been plaguing me the entire time reading about Sean’s character. Since it seems that Sean is a man and not an End Man how was he able to be a Governor when no other men lived in the Regions except for the End Man?

That ending sucked with another cliffhanger wondering once again what will become of Folsom and Gwen. I’m hoping the third book will devote more time to Folsom and Gwen’s story.

ANNOYED; LOVED IT BUT ANNOYED: NEED ANSWERS

Okay. SPOILERS !!!!!!! UNANSWERED QUESTIONS, CLIFFHANGER. IT HAS TO BE ANOTHER BOOK.

I listened to both Folsom & Jackal and I’m so annoyed. I didn’t get no questions answered. I need to know what happens to Alison and Folsom, Jackal & Phoenix. So much is left to the imagination and it’s pisses me off. I really pray the writers of these books brings a third and final book out. I need closure but I’m afraid since it’s been almost a year and I don’t see a new book release date that I’m never gonna know what happens. Warm someone before wasting 16-17 hours of their lives.

The End Men will suck you in

reading this book I was hoping to hear more from Folsom and Gwen story. It was an eye-opener to see Jackal side. being able to learn his story and see him also fall in love was amazing. These books have ripped my heart out and put it back in. There is so much love and adrenaline. the series is a must-read and I cannot wait for the next book. It needs to be here like now.

Started to think it was better than the 1st.

Which was not good. Started to really think this one would be better. Than comes the orgy scene and how stupid and cringey her choices were.

On the plus side the narration was much better!

Great Book

Jackal was another great read in the End of Men series by Tarryn Fisher and Willow Aster. Jackal is another one of the twelve End Men. He doesn't take himself seriously and has been dubbed the wild End Man. The uprising and Folsom's (his best friend) disappearance causes him to start questioning everything. He meets Phoenix, a thief and dancer, and everything starts changing for him. Jackal and Phoenix are forced to steal the Regions most precious thing. I enjoyed reading about how the Region's begin crumbling. I really enjoyed Phoenix and Jackal's story and can't wait to read the rest of this series.

oh man...

Not sure what i'm liking so much about this series but I just keep going. I love all the determination, love stories...it's like handmaids meets divergent or something. The narrators were great.
the random animal facts were entertaining for some reason and i felt like I should be writing them down just in case I felt like throwing them out there for others

SOOOO Good but where's the rest?😭

Finally I find a series that I can get into and the rest of the series is not on Audible 😔. Why? Why would you do this to me? The world building is seamless, the female characters are strong and independent, solid story arch and solid character development...I want more darn it!
