Publisher's summary

Learn How to Think Positively features two hypnotherapy sessions to help you develop a more positive outlook. Glenn's relaxing voice will guide you into a completely relaxed state of mind and body. Hypnotic echoed background affirmations pan from left to right across the stereo range - a deeply relaxing and uniquely hypnotic effect.

Developing a positive mental attitude and a strong self-belief will give you much more confidence and help you to overcome stress and anxiety. Hypnotherapy is uniquely effective in programming the mind to overcome self-doubt and to create a positive mindset in a safe and natural way.

Track 1 will guide you into a deeply relaxed state of mind and body where you can learn, under hypnosis, how to cultivate the habit of positive thinking and see the positive in every situation.

Track 2 will help you create a more positive future outlook by using the full power of your imagination! The guided tour on this track is very original, and we receive a lot of very positive feedback from it.

Please note: The first track has an awake ending, which is for daytime use and will gently bring you back to full waking consciousness at the end. The second track has a sleep ending and will guide you into a peaceful sleep at the end, making it ideal for nighttime use.

Great listen!

If you own any Glenn Harold's audiobooks then you know his technique. I enjoy listening to this when i'm going to bed at night or first thing in the morning. For me it's all about changing my subconscious mind.

Relaxing

Hypnosis works for me (you really have to find what works for you). This one is very relaxing, his voice really lulls the mind into serene relaxation to absorb these positive thoughts.

If you liked this one, you may also like to try Louise Hay's meditations and other meditative tapes.

No clue on the story...

No clue on the story as I did the second track that helps you sleep. Less than ten minutes in I was asleep after four days of insomnia.

hyponosis...?

Extremely well presented with good background sound effects...if I was the kind of person that could be easily hypnotized, I would have found it useful. It was entertaining.

Easiest way to make a change

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! It will help anyone think positively by using affirmations (statements) in first person. I recommend listening to this for 10 consecutive days before bed, even if you do not think it's working. While you listen, pretend it works. Pretend the magic of meditation is real. If after 10 days you do not feel a change about you, then you have my permission to give up. Odds are, not only will you notice a POSITIVE change within yourself, but others around you will too.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Learn How to Think Positively?

I listen to this before bed for the breathing techniques to help me fall asleep. Most the time, I fall asleep before it's over but the positive thoughts and ideas Glenn presents stay with me the following day. The subconscious mind is an amazing thing :)

What about Glenn Harrold’s performance did you like?

Glenn's voice is soothing and gentle. His accent helps ease the meditation process.I feel as if he is sitting next to me using magic to alter my thoughts.I have almost all Glenn Harrold's meditations and this one is my absolute FAVORITE. I can't imagine my life without him :)

Best there's been for positive meditation

I play it before bed. It has helped me
relax and try to think more positive about today
and the future. It's all in the creators hands and we just need to open ourselves up the blessings.

Positive thinking

starts great, narrator speaks much too quickly and ends the program much too quickly. I never really felt like I had a chance to do as he suggested

A lit box instructs the audience when to laugh.

I couldn't listen through the entire recording. I expected an English accent, but It sounds Australian. I couldn't help thinking I was listening to the crocodile hunter. It was even less assuring that he was not using a natural speaking voice. It was contrived & slow the way, "Youu arre geetting verryyy sleeepyyy" sounds like. It made me aware I was being manipulated by someone else's intention to MAKE me relax or think something, instead of someone there to help guide me. I'm personally quite resistant to very particular types of suggestions...mainly ones that simply command or instruct me to comply. He mostly speaks in 2nd person too. All of this would have been tolerable if what was being said showed an understanding of human psychology or how the subconscious worked. I believe people think, feel and do things for a reason. Simply telling someone to be happy or sad doesn't compel a person feel happiness or sadness, even if they want to feel those things. Also, the subconscious works differently than the conscious. Vague and abstract words are meaningless to the sub-conscious, as is negating positive words like "not/don't ______", as well as time referral. On this level things simply are. It seems that it is the conscious that gives meaning to words like "good, bad, positive, negative, soon, later, plan, future". This audio is the antithesis of these ideas. It is filled with shallow dribble like, "I live my life with self belief" instead of "I have confidence in my judgement", "I see many opportunities before me" instead of "There are always hidden opportunities", "I am always in the right place at the right time" instead of "I accept who I am and where I am". They may mean the same thing but they have a profoundly different effect on the mind. If you are looking to utilize your imagination to explore positivity, this could help. However, if you are looking to reprogram your thinking in order to be a source of your own positivity, you may want to look else were.
