Publisher's summary

A mother’s love is undying… and so is Dane.

After the state of Arkansas executes serial killer Dane Peters, the Rest Stop Dentist, his mother discovers that life is darker and more dangerous than she ever expected.

The driving force behind his ghostly return lies buried in his family’s dark past. As Ella desperately seeks a way to lay her son’s troubled soul to rest, she comes face to face with her own failings.

If Ella cannot learn why her son has returned and what he seeks, then the reach of his power will destroy the innocent, and not even his mother will be able to stop him.

A Chilling Supernatural Tale

If you could sum up Life After Dane in three words, what would they be?

Brutal, heartfelt, and relentless.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character was Sven, as he was the sane(er) of the characters and kept driving things forward.

Have you listened to any of Veronica Giguere’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't, though I'm currently working through one. Her performance is great here, so I don't expect it to be much different though I suppose publication date would allow inference of progress or not. She just handled a variety of characters and emotions to a high degree.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I kind of thought about life more than I normally would during a story. I had the same kind or reaction to Edward Lorn's other story Bay's End. He does a good job of writing relatable characters and then putting them through hell. I'm not sure if it was extreme, but it definitely made me think.

Any additional comments?

I will continue reading anything Edward Lorn writes that I can get my hands on, I suggest anyone reading this do the same.

Very well done. Emotionally violent and disturbing

Any additional comments?

“He’s not a monster. He’s my son.” Keep telling yourself that, lady. You helped make him that way. No worries though, the teeth will lead you home. Unfortunately for you…it may be Dane’s house now. Fug.

LAD is classic E. Fast moving and brutal. I should have been able to see the ending coming, but I didn’t. That is a testament to Lorn’s ability to keep you off balance and entirely engaged in the story from beginning to end. Very well done. Emotionally violent and disturbing. 5 Stars and Highly Recommended!

No excuse for this book

This book was awful. It was so disgusting I couldn't even finish it. It was horrifying and horrible, filled will disturbing imagery that did nothing to advance the plot. When it got to the cat I simply gave up. There is no need to read this stuff.
