About this listen

“Sweet, romantic, and suspenseful, Manchester Christmas is an unexpected gift.” (Richard Paul Evans, number one New York Times best-selling author of The Christmas Box)

A young writer is drawn to a small New England town in search of meaning for her life. Soon, she encounters kindness, romance, and is pulled into a mystery centered on an old, abandoned church and the death of a special girl. Are the images that only she can see in the church's stained-glass windows a warning, or is someone trying to reach her, to help heal this broken community?

Manchester Christmas illustrates how God often uses the most unlikely among us to spread grace and healing in a wounded world. Full of love, hope, and forgiveness, this debut novel from an Emmy-winning writer will touch your heart and have you longing for Christmas in Manchester.

Lovely Christmas story

A wonderful and heart warming holiday story. As a native of the area, it painted a great picture of Manchester and surrounding areas.

The accent of some of the characters was more Cape Cod than the Green Mountain area. And a few mispronounced local town names.

Overall very enjoyable and fun to listen to.

Can’t wait for the sequel.

Took Far Too Long

it took me far too long to figure out the windows. But I thoroughly enjoyed the book! Looking forward to listening to the next one.

If you enjoy Hallmark Christmas movies...

If you enjoy Hallmark Christmas movies, this book is for you! It was a great listen for the days leading up to Christmas! I listened while decorating, wrapping, and baking. It is the perfect feel-good story, with a bit of mystery thrown in. Great story-telling anyone familiar with John Gray’s writing would expect. I can’t wait for the sequel!

A sweet story

I listen to this audiobook because I run a Christian fiction book club, but it wasn't really Christian fiction. it just had some Christian elements. the story was a nice, simple, heartwarming story, but not the most riveting book I've ever read. at first I didn't like that the main character had a different voice than the main reader, but then I got used to it.

The readers were wonderful and enhanced this charming story.

The ending needed to be expanded a bit but loved Chase and the folks in Manchester.

Picture doesn't do it justice!

When life gets tough, read some John Gray! The book was exactly the right balm I needed. I didn't need a crazy convoluted plot, I needed kindness, compassion and love. John Gray delivered!

Delightful!

I can't tell you how much I loved this book. My words cannot describe it properly. The story itself was bright and cheerful despite the tragedies in the plot. I am local to the area in which it took place and know of all the towns and villages described in the book. The reference to Erastus Corning made me chuckle. It was a nice read, a fun read and who knew our wonderful TV personality had this much talent. :) Thank you, John Gray, for Manchester Christmas. I am looking forward to listening to Chasing Manhattan next and am sure it will not disappoint me.
