Very thorough and helpful

When I started listening to this book, I had absolutely no idea was stoicism meant. By the end of the first 3 chapters, I had a very good understanding of the topic and really enjoyed the history. You will learn how to be resilient and go through hardships without complaining. The examples and how the author ties them into today's society were very relatable. The narration is clear and very enjoyable to listen to.

Great introduction to Stoicisim

If you have ever wondered what Stoicism is/was/could be and what it could mean to you - this is the perfect primer. "Mastering The Stoic Way of Life" is an absolute must have for any student of philosophy. There are always things you can read online, for free, or articles and even long-winded dissertations on the subject - but this presentation really brings it all home in a neatly wrapped swaddle for you to grip in your hands and slowly merge with your heart mind and soul. I'm lucky I found this and am happy to recommend it to friends and family alike. A+ "A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials." Seneca

Such an interesting take on tacking emotions!

I really enjoyed listening to this book. What a way to help tackle emotions and find out how stoicism can affect the mind. I was a little skeptical, but it all makes sense. It felt like listening to a story told, with the cool melody of the author but also learning so much about stoics. Having said that, this book also holds practical ways to apply this to current life. A soothing book, with loads of information, especially the chapter about not always being in control. Such a great reminder!

Hands down one of the best books ever

I am still in awe. This book has literally changed my life to the point where I don't recognize myself!! I didn't think it would work for me because I've tried so many other types of self help books. This is hands down the most helpful stoic book I've ever come across. I can't wait to check out more from the author. The narrator is also talented and is the cherry on top :)

I learned something new!

I have heard of stoicism before when I was doing research on mental toughness. I find the book very informative and provide a useful guide to 'make sense of the insensible' and finding peace in this chaotic world. My favorite quote from the book is ‘An individual must seek to understand that things which cannot be changed must not suffer the attempt. Rather than wasting energy on a fruitless project, the stoic is more content to work on accepting the adversity for what it is.’ Change is the constant in life and we all can adopt some stoicism to help us deal and potentially thrive in this changing time.
