Life changing!!

I'm so happy I stumbled upon the documentary, The Minimalists on Netflix! It got me thinking about how I live my life and if I would consider myself content and happy. Certain aspects of my life, yes I'm completely happy with, however there is still a void which seems to have progressively gotten worse over the last year. So, after watching The Minimalists, I decided that this lifestyle had to be what was right for me, thus led me to the book, Minimalism. I must say that it has given me a much better understanding of this way of living and i couldn't be more excited to start on the journey to my minimalistic life. I do plan make this book a daily habit of study as well as diving into the essays and other books for more insight. This is a wonderful book and will recommend it to everyone.

Truly inspirational.

I'm half way through this book and I'm loving it! This is a big deal for me because even though I love books, I am dyslexic and I usually get frustrated and quit around now but I AM INVESTED. I AM HOOKED! It's simple to read, the sections aren't long so not only do I feel educated but I feel accomplished after each one which makes me wanna keep going. I've watched all the TED talks, I follow the podcasts, but the book is so convenient and easy to take notes in.
Sidenote: I've donated 10+ trash bags of "STUFF" in the last year, not to mention the stuff I've thow away. Truly inspirational.

Great book.

I first heard of this book while I was listening to O.L.D. postcast (just started really listening to it in October/November). Got really interested in the idea of Miminalism and getting excessive stuff I never used or need. I realized that I need to change more after reading their book. I am currently reading it and taking my time going through the chapters now.

A simple, easy-to-follow guide to get more out of

Honestly these guys aren't always the most relatable - we don't all have 6 figure jobs we can walk away from and quickly pay off our debt - but the insights here are universal. Don't focus on what you don't have in common with Joshua in Ryan, instead look for the common ground and those "YES" moments that make you realize that we are all drowning in stuff, commercialism and "busy," and we just don't have to. This book is a great place to start, and their podcast is also great. Yes, sometimes they come off as pretentious. but these guys got me into minimalism 4 years ago and it has made a drastic difference on my quality of life. When I find myself getting overwhelmed or bogged down, I come back to this book for a refresher and to help me recenter.

Amazing! Life altering!

I purchased this book after watching their documentary on Netflix. The experience of learning about their philosophies came at a time in my life when I have been feeling very lost and empty, feeling that I need to make some major changes. The minimalist philosophy was exactly what I needed and I am excited about the prospect of moving forward from here to improve my life & the lives of others!!

A great read for starting a minimalist lifestyle!

This a great book if you’re looking into or stepping into this new minimal lifestyle. It’s a great start to into getting ready to start living life with more meaning. It isn’t meant to depict specially what to do or how to do it. It’s meant to briefly describe how they themselves got started and how you can too. It is an easy read and I think slightly insightful. This is a great book for taking notes and reflecting on how you might want to start your new journey.

Very educational!!

This book wasn’t what I expected... but it was still a good read. I was hoping it was a organizing book how to become a minimalist but it didn’t cover that. It covered more about being a minimalist with your inner self not just with your stuff. Very educational!!

Important environmental message..

Important environmental message...you don't need a ton of cr*p to live comfortably. For me, material belongings come with a price...it's not what you pay at the store. Belongings clutter up a house, some need to be maintained, and make moving day more difficult. I am surprised that this pair of guys figured out a way to "sell" the message to the general public. I worked in Yellowstone National Park during the summer of 2015. After a summer of no tv and little radio, "re-entry" into society made me aware of how many commercials are shot at us each day. The film is edited well and upbeat.

Great read!

Really enjoyed this book. Provides excellent insight into what's important in life, and how valuable it is to have less and live more. Very relatable, easy to read. I highlighted passages as I went along, and would recommend re-reading, as the lessons are applicable in all aspects of your life. I have been trying to implement what I have learned while reading this book and have already experienced a difference for the better.

Awesome!

For me, the introduction was a refresher as I already knew this information since I'm not new to minimalism, but it may be useful clarification for those who don't. I learned a lot of great tips from this audiobook. No regrets!
