About this listen
Is your daughter struggling with an eating disorder? How can you be sure? Do you remember the last time she ate a meal and didn't seem unhappy or preoccupied? How long is she in the restroom after dinner? Can you be sure she's alright? I can help you.
This audiobook is dedicated to helping parents understand an eating disorder called bulimia nervosa. I am writing based on my experience with the disease. The personal accounts within this audiobook can aid in identifying and overcoming this disorder. Too many parents go through the motions of work, home, small talk and repeat with their daughters. This resource can help you to identify the patterns and pitfalls of bulimia in your daughter.
Twenty years ago, I was caught in the grips of bulimia nervosa. I will relate to you the ways I beat this eating disorder, and how you can help your daughter do the same.
It is important to understand that this disease is not attention seeking, but instead a reaction to overattentive environments. If you listen to this audiobook, you will find tips and guides to understand your daughter's struggle.
Can you honestly say your daughter looks happy? Just generally. Are you noticing her eating habits too much or too little? Do you discuss or interact with her at the dinner table? There is a clear difference. I can show you the way forward.
Within Parents Guide: Inner Anchor, you will discover:
- Ways to understand eating disorders.
- Open communication with your daughter about your concerns.
- How to get your daughter back from the grips of bulimia.
When struggling with bulimia, food can feel like a heavy anchor inside oneself. You have an opportunity to understand your daughter and help alter her perception, without harming herself in the process. Take it. Get back in the game. So if you want to benefit, you need this audiobook today!

Story
One day, I was at a restaurant with my wife, and as we were finishing up our meal, our server handed us a survey form. Realizing neither of us had a pen, my wife told me to ask the server if we could borrow one to fill out the form. Instead of doing this, I walked to the parking lot, retrieved a pen from our car, and walked back to our table. It would’ve been easier to just borrow a pen, but I opted for the route that involved less social interaction. I did this automatically, without even thinking.

If you were raised to believe that painful emotions are a sign of weakness, or if being vulnerable has always made you feel unsafe, then you may have survived by creating a perfect-looking life - a life where you appear to be successful, engaged, and always there for others. The problem? You're filled with self-criticism and shame, and you can't allow yourself to express fear, anger, loss, or grief. You recognize something is wrong, but you're not sure what exactly - only that you feel trapped and alone. If this sounds like you, you may have perfectly hidden depression (PHD).

Stay attentive, stay in the know
Shannon Michelle’s collection of titles helps listeners not only cope with properly dealing with symptoms, behaviors, and traits of eatings disorders and more, but a point I find extremely important is that she truly helps parents recognize such behaviors and traits within the family unit–recognizing is power! Because once a parent recognizes such things, they can take compassionate and effective action. The author comes from a place of personal experience and her guidance is invaluable when it comes to understanding and coping with eating disorders.

Guide for Parents
It's one of the best books in my opinion. As I got a lot of information from it. I get to know about eating disorders which are usually found in children.
The author has explained to parents, the tips and techniques through which they can overcome this disease in their children.
The narrator used a polite tone to deliver the message which I liked it. The theme of the book is informative.

A Must Read If You Have a Teenage Daughter
Whether or not your daughter struggles with Bulimia, you should take a few hours and listen to this book. It will open your eyes to things that could be impacting your child behind the scenes of her life. The author presents an intelligent and insightful overview of eating disorders, but more than that, she presents an informed glimpse into topics that simply were not an issue when we were kids such as the impact of social media upon the lives of young girls. The narration is crisp and clean, making it easy to listen to and comprehend. You owe it to your daughter to understand and empathize what is happening in her life. This book will help you do that.

This book was very well structured and I believe it is an excellent guide to helping a daughter overcome and understand Bulimia. I have not suffered from this before but I know people that have and I have a daughter that I hope one day never will. However, if that day did come this book really is the perfect resource to help me be able to help her.
