Publisher's summary

Captain Tag Brewer saved the Mechanics. He even handed them the key to victory against the Collectors. But now the Mechanics want his blood.

They aren’t the only ones.

When Tag returns to the SRE, he isn’t given a hero’s welcome. He is treated like a criminal. They suspect him of working for the Collectors. He finds himself mired in a plot that threatens to tear humanity apart. His only hope of quelling their suspicions and unifying the SRE is to follow a mysterious lead to an SRE colony planet where rebellion seems all but inevitable.

But someone else has plans for this world and for Tag....

Enjoyed the story

Enjoyed the drama with alien life forms and the heartbreak of finding someone and then discovering she is an enemy. Recommend this story for the young adult reader.

Amazing book/series

I can genuinely say that this book started my love for SciFi at the age of 36. Can’t wait for more books or additions to the series! Author and Narrator are an amazing combo.

Tag, you're it!

Man, let me tell you, I've been waiting for this sequel in audiobook format for EXACTLY two years since I listened to Shattered Dawn. I am so glad that Tony was finally able to get his publisher to put this and book five out in audio. To quote Raktor, it was a very kind thing.

This was well worth the wait as we follow along with Tag, Corrin (I know I spelled that wrong), Sophia, and Alpha in their journey with the Mechanics. This, just like every other book in the series, was a great listen and I love the imagination, descriptions, and science that went into a lot of the story. As a doctoral student, I couldn't help but laugh when I got to the part with the team drinking Mechanic booze and talking about topics that sounded like scholarly research paper ideas.

This was an easy 5/5, especially with the narration of Bradford Hastings.

Good book.

Entertaining enough to keep me listening, narrator was okay too just needs to work on female voices.

Relieved that less intense than 3rd book

Story progresses toward the final book. New aliens, new battles, new intel. I enjoyed it.

Rebel World

I stated this story on youtube and got the other 4 books on Audible. Great books! I’m glad I found them! These stories become an old friend to me. I look forward to hearing them every morning. I’m disabled and really enjoy sitting quietly and listening to the stories. Keeps me going in this life I have. I appreciate the author and will read/listen to more stories from this author. Well worth the time!

A+++++

Love this series and have been re-listening to the whole thing from the beginning in anticipation of the release of Dark Abyss next month. There is so much action and adventure in this book, plenty of science and logic too, all around a small crew of people trying to do the right thing in the middle of chaos. All the characters are so well done that you can’t help but root for them. This particular chapter bring us new insights into the link we have to post-humans. We meet new people and see once again that while Tag and crew are unraveling this mystery everyone else still remains in the dark, however it’s nice to start seeing all the pieces starting to fall into place. To beat the enemy it’s gonna take everyone and everything they have.
