a unique story of glimpeses into personal journey

A fascinating story, one can open any page in a hard copy, or in audio-book start anywhere. The personally reflective stories are in random order that makes it fun, the author's personal reflections along with a question"what would you do?" made me pause to think and ponder... First round I listened continuously, Then came the suggested approach, random place which was absolutely fun as each story being complete and discrete. The experience was very much like a conversation over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with a close friend where stories and reflections are exchanged. Very enjoyable experience!!!

A great companion on your journey

Book review Reflections by Kate Anders

A great companion on your journey

As I write this review, Los Angeles is in flames. As LA was once my hometown, I mourn all it is losing and feel for my friends, who still call it home.

Losing one’s home to fire is a story Kate told me once years ago and it might be in her first book, when she talked about her childhood in America and now, in this moment it gives me a faint idea of what it feels like to lose your home like that. It makes me even feel more for my friends.

Many of Kate’s reflections in this book gives us all, being American or not, a good insight of what life is for the average American, not the one’s we see often reflected in media, social or otherwise.
It shows how the spirit of the American is built up through a life and the wisdom it gains through their individual journey. Kate’s journey is as unique as they come, and I recommend you read it for all and more of the suggestions above. It is full of quotes of wise and old teachers, most of them writers, the inspiration of much of Kate’s life.

For me, it was a journey back on memory lane when I heard many of her stories before. Reading (listening in this case) it was a reminder of much of the wisdom Kate has always left us with. I recommend this book to you all, as it will impact you in so many ways, whether it is one quote or all of her reflections. And when you think of purchasing it, don’t forget to get her first book “I am Dying to Tell You” as well, as both these books will be helpful companions to you on your journey.

A beautiful compilation of wisdom, experience, and humor that reflects a deep love and curiosity about this life we live.

It was such a joy to listen to this book. Kate shares her insights and perspectives across a wide array of topics. Small bites of wisdom in the form of observations, remembrances and musings are served up in a relaxed and thoughtful manner. It’s like sitting at the local cafe with a dear friend and considering life as it unfolds. Delightful!

Like a warm cup of tea on a rainy day

Kate’s reflections is full of heartfelt moments that bring your own thoughts to life. I think It’s a book you don’t read cover to cover. simply keep it handy and pick it up and read a few passages before bed, when you wake up or just need a moment of reflective thought… and you’ll feel better in an instant.
