Publisher's summary

A sanctuary to safeguard. A friend to liberate. An ominous new foe.

Garron, once a servant with a deadly illness, narrowly escaped death at the hands of Jackson, the ruthless chief of Lord Tet's guards. In a twist of fate, his loyal friend Lord Andros sacrificed his freedom to save Garron's life. Now, Garron is poised to repay the life debt. Alongside Typo, a fledgling and untested Dungeon, Talia, his Wisp ally, as well as Rai, the formidable Dungeonborn lion, Garron is ready to test his mettle. The mission: free Andros from Jackson's iron grip.

But the winds of destiny whirl when man has set his mind to task. Sinister cultivators–disciples of the dark arts–roam his mountain terrain, and those fleeing the dark tide whisper of a necromancer lord seeking to establish a new dominion. Garron stands at a crossroads, torn between the quest to save his friend and his own moral compass demanding he saves these hapless people.

The path Garron chooses will shape not only his destiny, but his eventual continent-influencing kingdom.

See if Garron and village can stop Jackson!

With the advent of the stewart of the estate Jackson's win at the end of Hunt with Garron left for dead an Andros back in Jackson's tender care (Ha!). Garron finds that his work has been cut out for him, maybe even doubled. To a) get stronger so he can beat Jackson... b) and now save his best friend again... c) and to make the dungeon Typo even stronger with more mobs and traps.
But now there's humans entering the valley and Garron feels that he has'ta protect them from this monster rich area too! Seemingly throwing a monkey wrench in all his plans... Can a eighteen year old and a village of humans stop Jackson and his new aly a necromancer?
Once again Daniel Wisniewski does a bang-up job narrating Garron story! Catching all individual characters perfectly!
So go ahead and for Typos sake, grab the audiobook to find out!

Feels like the Divine Dungeon series

The first book felt like a prequel series to The Divine Dungeon series with its own story, but the second book feels more like the author was trying to reenvision the Divine Dungeon books. Either way, it was a good read.

Excellent

Really love getting more background information how the lion’s kingdom was originated. If it isn’t obvious this is a prequel to divine dungeon. Can’t wait for the next book! Character building and story is top notch, excellent narration. 5 star review!!

Worth the wait!

I fell in love with the world of the Divine Dungeon and this series within that world has continued to grow that fondness. Great installment and excited for the next chapter.

Good growth

I have been waiting for this book for a while now and I am happy to say that I'm not disappointed. If you liked the first book then absolutely get this one. Rohan did a good job of growing the characters and it seems to be pretty well thought out. Though the end rather surprised me. I look forward to seeing what he does with the next one.

Note: If you are used to seeing the absolute pile of puns that are in Dakota Krout's books, I am sorry (happy) to say there isn't nearly as many in this series.

The added characters were nice but didn’t make up for the sophomoric writing

Not written with same feel as other Krout books. It also don’t even qualify as dad jokes when there
was humor tried to elevate the rigid plotting story line.
. Wish it had the wit and flow of other DK books
