About this listen

From the author of These Toxic Things and Audible Original How It Ends comes a gripping short thriller about a young woman whose dreamy “glamping” weekend becomes her worst nightmare.

Still mourning the death of her own fiancée, Lauren Hudson must put on a brave face for her family as they gather in Zion National Park for her brother’s wedding. He’s co-founded a “glamping” (glamorous camping) start-up with Sadie, the soon-to-be bride whom the rest of the Hudsons have yet to meet, and they’re hosting their small destination wedding for their nearest and dearest right on their own campgrounds. But not long after Lauren arrives on the scenic property, doubts creep in about Sadie - could she be harboring a sinister secret? Or is the trauma of Lauren’s own past clouding her judgment? With the wedding looming ever closer, can Lauren discover and expose the truth before it’s too late?

Glad that this is a short one

Different story for me to follow…probably because it was boring. Narrator sounded like she was 16 years old. Just didn’t meet my expectations.

Great Afternoon Listen

I enjoyed the short story. It short and to the point. I liked the narration, although the narrator does sound young, given the subject matter.

Tough to follow

I think the premise of the story was very good, but it was told in a way that was very difficult to follow. It was often unclear how things moved from one point to another.

Unfortunately, I think the wrong narrator was chosen for this book. Her voice style and intonations did not fit the characters.

predictable

I saw it coming from a mile away, also some plot holes. it's okay for YA but uninteresting as an adult

Narrator was solid

Narrator sounded a little younger than the characters but she was solid and I didn’t hear her mix up characters voices. She doesn’t sound like a child like some reviews have said. The story is not a cheerful happy one but it’s about a family and tragedy. There was little in the way of slang which lended itself to the mature subject matter and intelligence of the characters. I enjoyed the distraction and do not feel I wasted my time.

A Good, Fun, Believable Romp!

Love how it is all done in first person narrative, with Imanii Parks giving great performance all through. Nice realistic use of tieing in real places to the storyline -La
s Vegas, and Zion in Utah! If you're looking for getting immersed into these camping sites - personality clashes - building drama, then it's a fun ride, and not too long. I thoroughly enjoyed!
