Lots of plot twist oh my

Good story with a a lot of plot twist. Some writing got out of character at times - like agent Waylen forgetting the life and death scenario they have been facing and takes his new/old girlfriend on a case where aliens may melt them all because she insisted. More to that story… All in all good read for the money and I will purchase final book 3. Narrative was excellent.

Sequel is better than the first in the series

The second book in The Token series is somewhat better than the first book. The first book read like a YA novel and there was less of that in this one. Also, there were more twists and turns, making this 2nd book a more interesting story. The first book was a bit predictable and plodding.

There is still some tedium though. We have a cross country road trip and Rory settles in to teach. Some things just take too long to develop. On the plus side, some of what appears to be irrelevant (e.g., Weylan's love life) is actually relevant.

So far, it's an entertaining if not exceptional tale. When the third book is released, I'll undoubtedly listen to it to see how it ends.

The narrator does a fantastic job.

Unique storyline

A different take on space exploration and alien contact. Suspenseful throughout. Filled with characters with unique goals and personality. Throughout you are never sure of where the story is going to go.

I couldn't finish it.

The first book was good enough to prompt me to buy the second book, but half-way through it started to become unbelievable. And 2/3 of the way through the dialog was so bad I couldn't finish it. It was just silly at that point. The things things the characters were doing and saying by the end of the book we on par with a really bad B movie.

Jay Snyder as always did an excellent job with the narration.
