About this listen

Cheryl Bradshaw's library of the Sloane Monroe Series, Books 1-3 (three complete novels), now as compelling audiobooks!

Enter the world of Sloane Monroe in Black Diamond Death...

On the slopes of Park City, Utah's newest ski resort, a woman is found dead. At first glance, it has all the makings of an accident. But what if she was murdered? Although skeptical, PI Sloane Monroe takes the case and learns not everyone is who they seem, and some will go to any lengths to protect their identity.

In Sinnerman, PI Sloane Monroe has solved every case that's come across her desk with the exception of one - the brutal murder of her sister Gabrielle. Three years have passed without a trace of the serial killer until today, when a young woman's body is discovered on a patch of dirt in front of the local supermarket. Will Sloane exact her revenge before Sinnerman slays his next victim, or will she be too late?

narrator should never do male voices

this narrator should not do male voices. They sounded very cartoonish. otherwise the story was pretty good.

Quite a surprise

Sloan Monroe books were always showing up as "recommended for you" I kept passing them by believing I wouldn't enjoy them. Boy was I wrong. I used a credit to buy this book figuring worse case, I'd buy three books for the price of one. I enjoyed the books so much, I purchased the next one which has books 4-5. There were twists and turns, not edge of your seat but wanting to hear what happens. The narration was good, it took a while for me to get into the narration. I recommend this book/series to fans of cozy mysteries.

Voices aren't the best

Overall the story is good, and I will be listening to the rest, but the voices aren't good at all. Men's voices would really help, and more women rather than just one person would make it a lot more interesting.

Excellent Set of Books

This set of the novels was wonderful. The twists and turns were frequent and unexpected but always took the stories in a good direction. The main character, Slone Monroe wad very sharp and what a great PI she is. If you like intrigue and suspense you'll love this set.

I wouldn't have liked Sloan, man or woman

I had to speed up the narration to make it more palatable. Crystal Sershen's narration leaves a lot to be desired. It's slow, with emphasis on the last word of almost every sentence. Her voices left me thinking most of the men are idiots and breathy. Sloan's friend Madison's voice was obnoxious. So, no, I didn't like the narrator. I may have liked the stories more if I'd have read them, however, I didn't like Sloan's character either. She was written as a self important smarter than everyone woman. I thought the constant "I" coming from her character got old, like ONLY she could solve the crime. To her the police were worthless and only good for giving HER information.

HAUNTING !!!

WOW GREAT SERIES !!

This was a five star book from beginning to end. I was captivated from page one. I could not get enough of this book. Just when you think you have this book figured out, there is another twist that leaves you shaking your head saying no way. This book left me wanting more. I was upset when it ended. I highly recommend this book. As with all Mrs Bradshaw's books. you will not be disappointed. She is a wonderful story teller and spellbinding Author..

Must be a new reader (Narration) on this one.

Good story, plenty of twists and turns but the performance of this narrater is fair at best. Not enough variations (inflections) which muddles the story. Story is overall it is worth the cost, but if I see this narrator again, I will have to pass.

Annoying narrators

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The story lines is fairly interesting. I would have probably enjoyed reading, but listening to the audiobook was annoying. The narrator makes most of the adult professionals sound like overly dramatic, snarky twelve year olds.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator needs acting lessons, or more life experience.

the narration is awful. The characters all sound so angry with each other all the time.
