Publisher's summary

Once upon a time, a princess was betrayed, and her kingdom was stolen from her. She hid her most precious object in the human world, a princess of the blood, in the hopes that the Sleeping Court would get a chance to take their rightful place as high court in the realm Faerie.

Now, a new generation has come of age, and the crown must be passed. The reigning queen’s daughter will claim the throne uncontested unless those who remember and waited to awaken the wayward princess can ally with her.

But as with all tales of Faerie, it is not without peril, danger, and intrigues. For our sleeping princess must awaken and must choose her guard wisely, one that will help her save all her allies and avenge her family.

Or history will repeat itself.

A reverse-harem romance.

So freaking hot!

If you haven’t listened to this I highly recommend! I’m new to the audibles but loved Josh’s take on the voices! Excellent version of an amazing series!

Secrets unearthed

Verity believes she is just any other girl struggling to survive in this world until she is told of a mysterious inheritance. Her world begins to change very quickly into that of fantasy. I really enjoyed this book and that cliff hanger just pulled me in and wow I can not wait to start the next one.

My intro into RH

This is the first RH I’ve ever listened to or read. Wow is all I can say. The storyline is intense and keeps you listening but the sex scenes are crazy hot!

Loved this so much! Must read (see my review to know why!)

Honestly, this book really had a unique storyline that I freaking loved and need more of. I was pulled me in further and further as I watched Verity grow from having nothing to being thrown into a world that she couldn’t even imagine. I love how the RH aspect is intertwined with a splash of FF action (cause I’m totally for that myself *wink*) and that she got to choose who she trusted.

Ohhh!! And I have to mention that I love that the house is alive and is connected to her!! Like seriously that makes me more jealous of Verity than her harem! How cool is that!?

The book is in third person, which is a change up from the usual books I read, and there are different perspectives here and there from the guys perspective. However, you won’t really know who’s immediately as it’s not identified, but written in a way that you’ll quickly catch on to who it is.

Also! Love that the book is on audible cause I like to listen and read so if I have to stop and do something, I can continue the story while also doing things.

It’s read by a guy, which at first I was a little taken aback by because the story circles around the FMC, however, he has a really sexy tone that after a while it just feels right. And when the sex scenes come into play... *fans self* it does add more heat to the read/listen! Hehe

The Sleeping Court Book One

The Sleeping Court Book One

Verity Salim has been alone all her life, so when a letter arrives implying that she has an inheritance coming to her, she is just curious enough to meet the sender. After explaining that she is, in fact, a faerie princess and she has inherited an ancestral home in Slumber, Mr. Standish Orator leads Verity to a car and driver, Grodin, and leaves. Once Verity arrives, she meets the members of her guard one-by-one. Carrington Altemi greets her and shows her the house. Everett Baird introduces Verity to the acceptance of her guard. Nassar shows Verity the range of species available to her. Arien Craven shows Verity that her curiosity is not a bad thing. This book is the introduction to The Sleeping Court's members. Hopefully, the next book will introduce the world of the Fae.

If you're looking for a quick story with multiple partners, this is the book for you!

Audio Review:
Joshua Macrae adds dimension to an the world K and Dagmar have created. He gives voice to the characters instead of just reading the lines aloud.

Even better on audio

I really love this series as an ebook and so I was very glad that it came out as an audio.

This is actually my first ever audiobook and what an introduction.

Josh voices all the characters splendidly and does a great job on the accents of them all.
The story is still amazing as ever and I can't wait for more of this series to come out an audible.

There is NOTHING sleepy about this story

Can I tell you how shy I will be if I ever meet this narrator? HOLY hottness! In the Reverse Harem genre I have to really like the characters to continue with a story/series. This one hits all those button to keep reading a story. I love that the characters of this story seem to just melt into you. Rich dark chocolate melting. The voice of the narrator really helps bring the characters personalities to life. The story line of the Princess and her future bid for Queen is so intriguing and compelling. With straight up snark at the right times, and connected emotion between Verity and her Guard this story is a quick listen and will charm you.
