Publisher's summary

The CIA's best covert operative is pressed back into service to stop a secret alliance forming with catastrophic consequences to the United States in Jeffrey Stephens's exciting new ripped-from-the-headlines thriller.

Although not fully recovered from the injuries he suffered while preventing a terrorist attack in Targets of Deception - Stephens's self-published first novel - Jordan Sandor returns into service when an Iranian defector brings word of a secret alliance among Iran, North Korea, and Venezuela. Vince Flynn raves, "Jeffrey Stephens has arrived with a ripping, good yarn of intrigue that will keep you turning the pages all the way to its explosive ending."

Impressive espionage thriller!!

Targets of Opportunity is Book 2 in the Jordan Sandor espionage series by Jeffrey S. Stephens. It's a standalone but listening first to Targets of Deception, Book 1 in the Jordan Sandor series, is recommended to better understand the key characters. The publisher's summary is absolutely perfect in that it does not give the wonderful plot away at all. Christopher Lane narrates superbly. It surprises me that a new self published author like Jeffrey Stephens could get a narrator of the quality of Lane to narrate his audio novels. Books 3 and 4 in the series are titled Targets of Revenge and Rogue Mission.

This author deserves far more recognition than he is receiving!

Another really good espionage

I really enjoyed listening to this book the narrator is really good and the story just different enough to keep me going. When you read as many espionage thrillers as I do it is a really difficult job the author has to keep me interested. The protagonist is a fun guy.

White knuckle action and espionage...

This book begins with Jordan Sandor recovering from injuries he received in the previous book. Although this book can be read as a stand alone, I recommend listening to this series in order. The first book introduces Jordan Sandor, gives background and fleshed out his character. Again, not a necessity for enjoyment of this book but certainly an enhancement.
So, Sandor gets a call from the CIA Deputy Director telling him there is another terrorist plot targeting the US. Jordan assembles a team to travel to N Korea posing as Canadians. The terrorists are forming alliances and the Middle East , South America and N Korea are all in on a single plot. Once discovered it's a mad dash to get out. One team member is killed and two are captured. Meanwhile Jordan continues on his globe trotting mission as he pieces together the plot and what he has to do to stop it.
This is a fast paced book reaching breakneck speed and intensity the closer it gets towards the culmination of the plot. It is complex, scary, realistic, believable and unfortunately plausible.
If you enjoy an espionage , suspense, thrillers etc etc etc, then this is the series for you.
Christopher Lane again does an outstanding job narrating.
This book (and series) is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Love Vince Flynn? Then Jeffrey S. Stephens is author you’ve been searching for.

Once I completed the Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn, I searched for authors who could write with the same type of suspense and sense of mystery that Flynn has mastered. Needless to say, I would finish the novel deflated or figured out what was going to happen before I finished the book. That is not the case with the Jordan Sandor series by Jeffrey S. Stephens. This is the second book in the series and I couldn’t wait to get to the next book! I am placing all the books from the Jordan Sandor series with the Mitch Rapp series in my “Driveway File”. The “Driveway File” contains books that I find myself either sitting in my car in the driveway listening to instead of parking and getting out after a long work day or books where I find myself taking the long circuitous route to my destination to get more time entranced by what is happening in the audio book! This author is not getting the attention he deserves on Audible. Try him out you won’t regret it. If you don’t like it, you can always return it. So what do you have to lose?
