It was fine

I was trying to put my finger on what was strange about this book and what I realized is it’s a story that seems to be written by a much older person. I haven’t googled the author yet, but I am going to assume they’re in their 70s or 80s. I’m in my 50s. it sounds like the author has not had a conversation with other people about interpersonal relationship relationships in the last 30 years because the language is outdated and the scenarios or interpersonal choices are very odd. With the exception of the occasional sprinkle of cell phone use or social media, this could be a Hardy Boys book from the 1940s. I did not enjoy it, but that does not mean that you won’t.

C rating - Disappointed

Could have had a lot of potential - story could have been unique & scary, but it was cringy & cheesy I couldn’t even finish. Maybe last 25% of book kills it - if i end up finishing I’ll revise my review. I would rate it lower but this author usually kills it, & i feel guilty leaving a poor review. I love her so I bought without reading any reviews or research
