Publisher's summary

Life shouldn’t be about picking up the pieces. Beth Bradshaw has spent her life hiding from her tragic past. From the moment a trusted family friend steals her innocence until the moment another rescues her, she struggles to just survive. Surrounded by the comfort and protection of her extended family, Beth embarks on a journey of healing far from the horrors of her home. In her darkest moments, she meets a boy named Ryan. For one incredible summer, Ryan shows Beth what it’s like to act her own age. To feel free and let go. If only for a while. Years later, another tragedy threatens to shatter the life Beth has carefully crafted.

When faced, yet again, with more pieces to pick up, Beth begins to question what her choices have cost her. Leaving her old life behind, she sets forth on a pilgrimage that will bring her back to the boy she could never forget. He wants to help her pick up the pieces of her life, but is she willing to do what it takes to become whole again? Can she trust him with a piece of herself?

missing a little something but still good

almost 4 stars. I liked this book; there were some moments that I teared up, some parts were hard to read because of content & there were also parts where I thought it could've gone a little faster. It seemed like there was a big time lull that could've been filled with better....?; I don't know, something

Just Okay

Would you try another book from Maggi Myers and/or Amy McFadden?

The narrator was fine but I don't think I read another Maggi Myers book unless it was a good deal thru whispersync.

What do you think your next listen will be?

This question is irrelevant to this book so I will give my opinion on this book. This book was just okay. It has great reviews on Amazon which made me eager to read it. Although the subject matter was tough to listen to it made the book stand out. I also enjoyed the relationship she had with Tommy and the evolution with her parents. Unfortunately, I still found it rather boring and rather predictable. With the great reviews on Amazon I definitely don’t recommend anyone avoid this book because of my review. I guess it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Which scene was your favorite?

I read this book only a week ago and I can't recall a favorite scene which goes to show how much of an impact this book made. I really only remember the molestation scene because it was tough to listen to.

Could you see The Final Piece being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

This could be on Lifetime for sure!

What an emotional story!

I read and listen to books all the time but this book engaged me from the very beginning and left me upset, hopeful, disappointed for the characters, surprised, devastated to the point of "ugly crying" for hours and finally loved. Both the writer and narrator did their part in this well written book. I will read it again.

Disturbing and sick. AVOID THIS BOOK.

Reads like a guidebook for pedophiles. disturbing and sickening. The author could have written the molestation parts in a manner that was more sensitive. The graphic descriptions were not necessary to the overall result of the story. SICK SICK SICK. AVOID THIS BOOK.
