Publisher's summary

Travis emerges from the astral only to find the world has been greatly altered during his absence.

Arriving in Stormhold, Travis finds that Valerence’s capitol is stricken with chaos and scheming Lords. To make matters worse Godsmith visits Stormhold and further destabilizes the already fragile court. Travis is forced to make several difficult choices as he attempts to keep Stormhold’s Lords from turning against each other. Rifts form and friends turn to enemies as chaos threatens to consume Valerence.

Faced with treacherous Lords, a power-hungry paladin, and the reemergence of The Valien Empire, Travis is forced to consider whether there is anyone in Stormhold worth fighting for.

Spectacular!

Wow! What a fantastically rich story! A lot of characters meet their ends though…
Great story and performance as usual, though this book was definitely more tragic than the last two. The characters remain incredibly vivid and I’ve become very attached to them.
This book also connects with The Elementalist Books and provides some insight into the future.
I can’t wait for a future installment to continue the story!
Highly recommend! These books deserve so much more attention!

Very Emotionally Engaging!

This might be the best book in the series. The characters have all come so far and so much has changed since book 1.
The drama in Stormhold was gripping and fascinating while the battles happening across the other fiefs were intense and very strategically pleasing.
Wish we got more of Jervis though! In fact id like a whole book about him and Callie!
This series is criminally underrated!

I would love to see Fallith’s story continued as this series provided a great backstory for him, but I’m a little confused as to how he intends to use Jack as leverage over Dusk. How does he know that Jack’s already on earth. Is he working with Doom and the treacherous God? That would make sense given his personality but then what is he going to do when he learns that Jack is dead? I’m also curious what Dusk will do when he finds out Jack basically committed suicide.
