About this listen

The journey that began in The Shadow of What Was Lost and continued in An Echo of Things to Come now comes to its spectacular conclusion in The Light of All That Falls, the final chapter of the Licanius Trilogy by acclaimed epic fantasy author James Islington.

After a savage battle, the Boundary is whole again - but it may be too late. Banes now stalk the lands of Andarra, and the Venerate have gathered their armies for a final, crushing blow.

In Ilin Illan, Wirr fights to maintain a precarious alliance between Andarra's factions of power. With dark forces closing in on the capital, if he cannot succeed, the war is lost.

Imprisoned and alone in a strange land, Davian is pitted against the remaining Venerate. As he tries to keep them from undoing Asha's sacrifice, he struggles to come to terms with his own path and all he has learned about Caeden, the friend he chose to set free.

And finally, Caeden is confronted with the reality of a plan laid centuries ago - heartbroken at how it started and devastated by how it must end.

Top notch , just delighted how this all turned out.

Just finished, astonishingly giddy and sad at the same time. This was such a well done story and this third book tying up so many of the plot lines in very gratifying ways.

Good trilogy, rushed ending.

I really enjoyed these books, great plot twists and turns in the first two books. The third books pacing is a little off. It is almost to fast. I felt like there was 10-15 hours missing. The plot twists I guessed pretty far in advance. Typical fantasy stuff. Big battle, with last minute saves. I was really hoping for more. All that said, Michael Kramer (voice actor), really shines. I would still recommend this trilogy.

Both complicated and captivating

With various plot lines and characters weaving amongst one another and back and forth through time, this series is not light listening. It is, however, enjoyable and a welcome reprieve from the cotton candy consortium of books that tease you with sweetness but whose lack of depth ultimately leave you wanting more. I can easily see the comparisons to Robert Jordan and even Brandon Sanderson who also are masters at building deep characters and captivating plot lines. If you finish a series and immediately want to start the whole series over again to see what you missed the first time through, you know it is a good book

This is the best book of the trilogy IMO. A great, heart wrenching ending to one of my favorite fantasy series ever.

Beautiful close to the story

This is the ending of one of my favorite book series, and it wraps up the story’s complex and exciting narrative beautifully.

I am extremely enthused for James Islington’s future work!
