About this listen

Cameron is running from his life. Nadia is trapped in hers. A chance encounter will change everything.

Feeling trapped in the prison he calls his life, Cameron makes the impulsive decision - with the help of liquid courage - to quit his stable job in New York City and run away for a month to find himself. His plan brings him to Cape Verde, a beautiful island, the beauty of which stuns him almost as much as it brings him peace.

Cameron only plans to stay for the month, just long enough to decide what to do next. Never did he think he'd fall in love.

Nadia has always dreamt of escaping the island that's held her prisoner for so long, but after years of being trapped in the same dead-end job and limited funds to change her situation, she sees no way out. Working all day leaves no time for romance, until Cameron walks into her life, and everything suddenly changes.

Nadia and Cameron find an escape in each other, but with the month ticking down, their love is put to the test. Can their love weather the storm?

Delightful!

At the end of his rope in the office, Cameron suddenly turns in his resignation. He's tired of the routine and needs to find a new life for himself. Fleeing to Cape Verde, he rents a house for a month and begins to live again. The view of the ocean is calming and beautiful. Breakfast at the Palm Tree cafe, becomes part of his routine and not just for the food. Nadia is a beautiful woman, a native of Cape Verde, who waits on him each morning, becoming more than a waitress to him. Nadia is reluctant to go out with him when he asks her, but his persistence pays off. Walking  through the town and on the beach, they talk about their hopes and dreams. But there's an expiration date on Cameron's stay. One month. He rented his house for one month, but Nadia was under the impression that he was in Cape Verde to stay. It breaks her heart and she accuses him of lying to her. What a seemingly sad ending to such a short but beautiful connection. The HEA left a big smile on my face. For such a short story, The Palm Tree felt complete with wonderful character descriptions and the feel of the bright colors and sandy beach of Cape Verde.
I listened to the audiobook version and the narration was skillfully done by Clancy Jone

Palm Tree

This story shows that whilst one thing is what one person is running from the next maybe running towards it. It’s a sweet story that has a HEA.
The narration for this book was great.

Short and Sweet

Enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Cameron makes a decision and quits his job and runs off to an island. He meets Nadia and tries to get a date, but Nadia needs to work so she can support her sister. Finally Cameron gets Nadia to go on a date. When Nadia finds out that Cameron is there for only a month she gets upset. Will Cameron stay for Nadia, or will Nadia go back with Cameron? Recommend. Narrator did a good job telling the story.
