Publisher's summary

Being young is all about the experiences: the first time you skip school, the first time you fall in love...the first time someone holds a gun to your head.

After being held hostage during a robbery at the local convenience store, 17-year-old Edie finds her attitude about life shattered. Unwilling to put up with the snobbery and bullying at her private school, she enrolls at the local public high school, crossing paths with John. The boy who risked his life to save hers.

While Edie's beginning to run wild, however, John's just starting to settle down. After years of partying and dealing drugs with his older brother, he's going straight - getting to class on time and thinking about the future.

An unlikely bond grows between the two as John keeps Edie out of trouble and helps her broaden her horizons. But when he helps her out with another first - losing her virginity - their friendship gets complicated.

Meanwhile, Edie and John are pulled back into the dangerous world they narrowly escaped. They were lucky to survive the first time, but this time they have more to lose - each other.

This is a fantastic story

I feel in love with this story. I heard many great things about this book, so I decided to buy and listen. I'm so glad I did. This book sucked me in, making it almost impossible to put down.
Edie and John endure horrible things together and together make it through these horrible things. Their bond goes beyond love, it has issues, don't get me wrong, but it fits them perfectly.
Andi Arndt does a great job at narrating!
This book is def worth a credit.

TRUST that this book is amazing

Would you listen to Trust again? Why?

Yes, this will be a repeat. It's such an emotional ride. You get to feel all the feels!

What other book might you compare Trust to and why?

This will date me, but Judy Blume wrote a couple of books that I would compare to this.

Have you listened to any of Andi Arndt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have a few books in my library because she was the performer. I love her voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked it when Edie discovers her own self worth. When she realizes that all people no matter weight or color are beautiful.

Any additional comments?

This is so worth the money or credit. No disappointment here!

Another fantastic read by Kylie Scott

Although her first in a new genre, Kylie knocks it out of the park with Trust. Her storytelling is spot on, drawing you in and keeping you there. Between her stellar writing and Andi Arndt's fantastic performance, I was unable to put this one down, inhaling it in a single, non-stop session. Her characters were totally identifiable and she nailed the high school experience, as well as the insecurities that prevail at that age. I was rooting for Edie and John, loving how their friendship and relationship developed. I want to check in with them in ten years and see them still together, closer and more bonded than ever. Like a really good story should, it left me wanting more.

Liked the book!

I was expecting the book to be lame when I realized soon after starting that the book was about high school kids. It was still a good book and I wasn't annoyed or disappointed at all. Second book I've read by this author and I've purchased many more!

expanded story telling

I expected more dirty scenes but loved that it wasn't the only purpose of the book. It makes a great story and wish for more of the characters story.

Hard subject but worth my time. spoilers included.

This was a hard book for me to read. I don't know how to write this without spoilers. I don't think I've read a romance novel that's taken on this subject, kept it real and held my heart in its hands. I love these kids. edy and john really go thru too much pain in their young lives. edy has to deal with bullies, then the shooting, then her bestie betraying her trust, then more bullying! john has to navigate the drug culture thanks to his junkie brother and basically being abandoned by his parents. that they find each other again after the shooting, develop and explore their feelings for each other and get a chance at happiness, was achingly beautiful. I'm really enjoying everything I read by Kylie Scott. this was really deep. even with the dark subject, she still manages to insert humor, I really appreciate that.
