Publisher's summary

Retired FBI Special Agent Bruce McGowan, now a Counter-Terrorist Operative for the US Department of State, returns to his childhood domicile in rural West Virginia to investigate a young unidentified Middle Eastern male who was killed in a pedestrian accident. In the dead man's possession is alarming evidence of a terrorist plot to detonate a massive explosive device in a Charleston, West Virginia chemical factory that manufactures deadly hydrogen chlorine and cyanide gases.

While staying at a local bed and breakfast named Wolf Laurel, McGowan also becomes involved with the proprietress of the Inn, Adrianna Wolf.

As McGowan uncovers a terrorist plot hatched by three other Islamic fascist students, he pulls double duty. He is protecting Adrianna and her guests while strategizing with the "Birdman", his boss at CTT, and a young Charleston, West Virginia FBI Agent to neutralize the suspects before they can put their horrific plan into action.

Will an entire city of 100,000 perish at the hands of these extremists, or will Bruce McGowan take them down?

Amazing how well Lee Martin connected great fiction to what I know to be facts, both historical and the lay of the land.

This audio book was/is very enjoyable to listen to. I listened to it while doing my morning Power Walks, driving, and when sitting in my sauna. The time passed very quickly. Good write and recording.

Great Audible Book from a great writer

I have read the entire Bruce McGowan series. Audible made listening to the book a nice way to remember the start of this adventure.
Lee Martin is a decorated Army veteran and uses his experiences to enhance his writing. He has a great imagination and a special skill he uses in his writing. I found “Wolf Laurel” to get off to a quick start so you know who Bruce McGowan really is. The plot flows quickly that keeps you interested. It’s hard to put this book down. I’m glad to consider Lee a good friend. Looking forward to more of his books on Audible.

Great read!

I read this novel several years ago, but the audible version made reuniting with Bruce McGowan quite enjoyable. I hope there are plans to put the entire McGowan Collection on audible.

Awesome Story

This audiobook was a fantastic start to the series. The story was smooth and filled with excellent events. I was never bored once. It's one of those you start and can't stop listening. The narrator did an incredible job reading and did so well bringing the story to life for me. I received this series for a honest review and can't wait to start the second book.

Was Not Disappointed

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this book, but I am happy to say it has a little of everything in it; a love story, the bad guys, the hood guys and humor. I, of course, love the WV setting.
