She was among the 21 African Filmmakers shortlisted for the Netflix-UNESCO African Folktales Reimagined competition.

  • Growth with Kayode Kasum
    May 20 2022

If you’ve watched a Nigerian film in the cinemas or on Netflix in the past two years, there’s a good chance you’ve seen a film directed by Kayode Kasum. One look at his filmography and it’ll seem he’s Nigeria’s busiest director.

Did you watch Unbroken or Riona? Kayode directed over 10,000 hours of those shows. Whew!

His films have been screened and have won awards in various festivals around the world. Canada, France, Serbia, Kenya, Italy, United Kingdom, and Nigeria.

Some of my favourites among his films are Oga Bolaji, Kambili, and This Lady Called Life. Having seen these films, I was super curious to learn about his first ever feature film - Dognapped.
