The Book of Acts is a great story of the early church Jesus started and left in the tiny nation of Israel. He left his unlikely group of disciples with the enormous task of spreading what they knew about Jesus and their experience with him to the entire world. They were successful and not only reached their world, but generations into the future. Approximately 2,000 years after he returned to Heaven, the church exists in places like South America, Asia, and the remotest islands of the Earth.

People must be led. When there is a leader, he is followed. The spiritual leader is the one who has made the most progress in knowing God and is serving Him. Such a person has authority with God which no one can take away from him. No one can remove him from leadership. No one can put him into leadership. His intimate knowledge of God, his close walk with Him, his sacrificial service for the Lord and His people, put him apart from the others, and those who want true spiritual leadership turn to him. This is my understanding of spiritual leadership.

God places his people strategically throughout history, and he has placed you here for this moment. A light has begun to pierce through decades of spiritual darkness in Latin America, but the mission is still unfinished. In both life and ministry, it is very easy to let discouragement and circumstances beat you. We must make a daily choice to get the victory that Christ gives to each of us. We don’t have to just survive our life, our marriage, or our ministry. We can thrive because he helps us overcome the greatest battles!

Our missionary brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, husbands, and wives would travel thousands of miles to share the gospel to people in faraway lands. They are willing to sacrifice all to share the love of God with these people. Times are changing. Now, God is bringing people from foreign lands right to our shores. Is this a new mission? What is his reason? Unfortunately, the present political climate and rhetoric are making it extremely difficult, if not impossible, for us to have a level-headed discussion when it comes to this topic of migration.
