The Book of Jubilees was written in Hebrew by a Pharisee between 135 and 105 BC. The author interprets the history of events from the creation to the giving of the law on Sinai according to the Pharisaic standpoint of his time. The Book of the Dead is an ancient Egyptian funerary text written on papyrus and used from the beginning of the New Kingdom.
