The dead man had arranged a meeting with him, promising vital information on a new crime. Unfortunately, there are three distinct possibilities to sort out, and the tip could apply to any of them. It could be a large gold shipment due in from Cardiff. It also could involve a pending visit by an important German diplomat.

Weed and Jerry are the objects of a murderous attack as they return to their hotel while Saxon is set up for death by scorpion. Following a visit to a strange tomb located deep in the desert beyond Cairo, it quickly becomes clear that their unseen foe has unleashed two arcane creatures - experiments initially engineered in lost centuries - as a means of vengeance.

Residents of a small town in Ohio are suddenly confronted by a spectral house that appears and disappears before their very eyes, and a strange, glowing dwarf. Then the disappearances begin. The trail leads to a government-financed project intended to radically boost agricultural production. When Saxon and Associates arrive to investigate matters, they encounter and rescue the sister of a missing graduate student and Weed comes face-to-face with the gibbering horror in the dead of night.

A series of bizarre deaths erupts, first in New York and then in Washington. Men are seemingly falling to their deaths inside skyscrapers, leaving no clue but their battered bodies. The Man With the Green Eyes, Jerry and Weed investigate, and then the masterminds behind a terrible new weapon strike directly at their headquarters, seeking to head them off before they can fit all the pieces of the puzzle in place. The final battle takes place on and above the Hudson River.
