Po patnácti letech se objevuje jako doktor Antekirt a vydává se po stopě udavačů, které hodlá náležitě potrestat. Román je poctou dílu Hrabě Monte Christo Alexandra Dumase staršího, kterého Verne považoval za svůj vzor a svoji knihu mu i věnoval. Podobně jako hrabě z původního díla je i doktor Antekirt velmi bohatý, což mu slouží k dosažení pomsty.

Journey to the Center of the Earth is a classic science-fiction novel by Jules Verne. The main character, Professor Otto Lidenbrock, is an eccentric scientist who believes that there are volcanic tubes that go down to the center of the Earth. The professor’s party of three - he’s joined by his nephew Axel and an Icelandic guide Hans - enter Iceland's inactive volcano Snæfellsjökull, in search of the tubes. They face many dangers, including tornadoes, cave-ins, and prehistoric creatures from ancient epochs that would devour them.

"Doctor Ox's Experiment" is a short story by Jules Verne, published in 1872. It describes an experiment by Dr. Ox and his assistant Gedeon Ygene. A prosperous scientist Dr. Ox offers to build a new gas lighting system to an unusually stuffy Flemish town: Quiquendone. As the town bore no charges, the offer is gladly accepted. The hidden interest of Dr. Ox is however not lighting, but large scale experiment on effect of oxygen on plants, animals and humans.

Michael Strogoff, a 30-year-old native of Omsk, is a courier for Tsar Alexander II of Russia. Despite his wealth, Fogg lives a modest life with habits carried out with mathematical precision. Very little can be said about his social life other than that he is a member of the Reform Club. Having dismissed his former valet, James Forster, for bringing him shaving water at 84 °F (29 °C) instead of 86 °F (30 °C), Fogg hires a Frenchman, Jean Passepartout as a replacement.
