The Jungle Tales of Tarzan, book six of the Tarzan series, consists of 12 short stories loosely connected to each other, although each one can stand on its own. They fill in many details of Tarzan's youth and adolescence in the jungle, while still living with the tribe of great apes that reared him. Mr. Burroughs, much like Gene Roddenberry half a century later, was able to make very trenchant comments on our life and society by setting his stories outside our normal recognizable world.

Two of the hobos attempt to murder the newcomer for the loot, who shoots at one and flees.

"The Warlord of Mars" is a fantasy novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, part of his series about the fictional "hollow earth" land of Pellucidar. After the horrendous battle which ended with the destruction of the religion of Issus, John Carter's wife and two other women were locked in a slowly rotating prison attached to the Temple of the Sun, each of whose hundreds of cells are only open to the outside world once every year.

Tarzan is about 34 and his son, Jack, around 11. Alexis Paulvitch, an old enemy, re-appears, and takes an ape to London and begins displaying him publicly. When the Claytons hear about the displayed ape, John decides to take Jack to see him. Tarzan is surprised to find the ape is his old friend, Akut, and begins conversing with him. Jack is amazed to see that. John then tells Jack of his life as Tarzan. Jack starts sneaking away to see Akut and begins learning the language of the apes.

At the end of the first book, A Princess of Mars, John Carter is unwillingly transported back to Earth. The Gods of Mars begins with his arrival back on Barsoom (Mars) after a 10-year separation from his wife, Dejah Thoris; his unborn child; and the Red Martian people of the nation of Helium, whom he has adopted as his own. Unfortunately Carter materializes in the one place on Barsoom from which nobody is allowed to depart: the Valley Dor, which is the Barsoomian afterlife.

Tarzan returns from WWI and his adventures in Pal-Ul-Don. The war has wreaked havoc on his finances and his estate - and he must once again return to Opar. Adventures abound with familiar foes in Opar - and new ones in a band of international rogues bent on getting to the treasure vaults before Tarzan. And there's a major new addition to Tarzan's family - Jad-Bal-Ja - the golden lion!

As part of his campaign of torment and trickery against the native village, whose members he holds responsible for his ape foster mother's death, Tarzan captures Rabba Kega, the local witch doctor, and puts him in a trap the natives have set to catch a lion. The next day the warriors find they have caught the lion, but it has killed the witch doctor. They take the lion to the village. Tarzan secretly releases it and appears among them dressed in the lionskin he had previously used to trick the apes. Dropping the disguise, he reveals himself and leaves.

Performed by David Stifel, Out of Time's Abyss is the sequel to The Land That Time Forgot and The People That Time Forgot, and continues the lost world saga begun in the earlier stories. Burroughs completes the revelation of his lost world's unique biological system, hinted at in the previous installment, in which the slow progress of evolution in the world outside is recapitulated as a matter of individual metamorphosis.

"A Princess of Mars" (1912) is a science fantasy novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the first of his Barsoom series. Full of swordplay and daring feats, the novel is considered a classic example of 20th century pulp fiction. It is also a seminal instance of the planetary romance, a sub-genre of science fantasy that became highly popular in the decades following its publication. Its early chapters also contain elements of the Western. The story is set on Mars, imagined as a dying planet with a harsh desert environment.
