Publisher's summary

Lethal: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!

When her four year old daughter informs her a sick man is in their yard, Honor Gillette rushes out to help him. But that "sick" man turns out to be Lee Coburn, the man accused of murdering seven people the night before. Dangerous, desperate, and armed, he promises Honor that she and her daughter won't be hurt as long as she does everything he asks. She has no choice but to accept him at his word.

But Honor soon discovers that even those close to her can't be trusted. Coburn claims that her beloved late husband possessed something extremely valuable that places Honor and her daughter in grave danger. Coburn is there to retrieve it - at any cost. From FBI offices in Washington, DC, to a rundown shrimp boat in coastal Louisiana, Coburn and Honor run for their lives from the very people sworn to protect them, and unravel a web of corruption and depravity that threatens not only them, but the fabric of our society.

Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration so that listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Wonderful.

Every book that I’ve read from Sandra has been really great. I still have more to listen to.

I’m livid!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No. The story was amazing but there is a huge cliffhanger that just infuriates you. Either my book skipped the last chapter and when to “thank You’s” or it’s a really shitty cliffhanger.

If you’ve listened to books by Sandra Brown before, how does this one compare?

I prefer others. The story is really good and compared to her other books it’s just as mysterious, but I was not happy with how it ended. I still don’t know what happened.

What about Victor Slezak’s performance did you like?

I love his voice and performance in all her books. He’s amazing.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did. Driving to work. At work. On my way home. While making dinner. I couldn’t stop.

Any additional comments?

WHAT HAPPENED with Lee, Honor, and Emily?!?! I still don’t know if there is a happy ending or a sad ending.

Would be a page turner if on paper

The book is well written and keeps you interested. I didn’t want to put it down and continued listening in record time. The narrator does an excellent job with the voices of the characters and the background sounds adds a touch of added suspense. Well done!

Good story, hard to listen to

I don't care for background music and sound effects, and this reader was a little slow for my taste. Both issues improved when I listened at 1.25 speed. Story was good though slightly predictable.

Help! No more music!!

The music was awful. I am not sure if it was music. It was totally a distraction, and took away from the narrative. Despised the distraction from a great story.

Great Book!

This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I can't say enough great things about the writing. The behind the scenes music was irritating and is the only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars!

Bad guy or misunderstood good guy?

If you are a Sandra Brown fan you will love this book, as it is her typical style of writing. Nobody is who they seem to be. This one almost leans to much towards Stockholm syndrome, but it was still sexy. Narration/ Production was a bit different than normal readings, as it had both the narration plus background noises, without it being a full on production type sound. It was subtle and worked well.

Another Good One

This book was good from start to finish, I liked the suspenseful music and the inflection in the narrator's voice when something big was about to happen. Sandra Brown always finds humor in the midst of turmoil.

Edge of seat mystery...

Started out a little slow but was well worth sticking with! My only criticism would be the voice of Emily was a little off putting.
